The local evening news just reported that nine people across Florida have died from this disease. A person can also contact the disease by eating seafood, mostly raw seafood such as oysters.

Remember the above story of a 24 year old graduate student who contracted flesh-eating bacteria from a zipline accident? She plunged into a river.

Flesh-eating bacteria also live in the soil. That's why they caution gardeners to wear gloves if they have an open cut on their hand(s). And if you don't wear gloves, you should wash your hands and clean under finger nails before eating.
