Prayers said. I saw the aftermath - if it is the same one. Near Bridgeport at Lake Sumter.

Hope all goes well for rider.
Having been one since the 70's it still amazes me that anyone would ride without a helmet. See many here riding without one and think it's a stupid choice!

It's against their "constitunational!" rights to protect their head.. Just ask them! They will tell you in no certain terms...!

All I saw was man down wo helmet. dont' know if he had helmet on b4 the accident. I do tell you that anyone who will not pray based on his choice of headgear or not are worse off than he is for integrity.
The mercy of God is new every morning. God bless us all.

My prayers have been said for the injured motorcyclist and his family.

Why is everyone so concerned about not wearing a helmet when it's the riders choice, and if something happens it is usually the rider who ends up losing (his choice). Yet so many drivers text and talk on the cell phone and kill many innocent people.

Some of us are missing Kitty's point. Just pray.

You have mine, Kitty.

Sending prayers his way with hopes he will survive this accident. However, I don't understand (and don't agree with) why Florida doesn't have a motorcycle helmet law.

Praying for him and it doesn't matter whether he had a helmet on or not. My husband is a rider and every time he gets on that Harley I pray God sends him back home to me safe.

Hemets don't matter? I respectfully disagree. Look at this Wikipedia article: Motorcycle helmet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle_helmet)

Please post statistics that prove helmets do not provide protection and eliminate death and disabilities for riders. I've been wrong before but hope I'm not wrong this time.

Agree. My friend's son recently was seriously injured on his motorcycle a week after his wedding. He survived but will have life-long problems.

Personally, I don't feel totally safe in my golf cart because of the lack of protection. Sometimes car drivers are in such a hurry to get ???, that I've seen several near miss accidents on St. Charles.

BR CAREFUL....no matter what you're driving!

Please reread what I wrote. I will pray for this man regardless of him not wearing a helmet. I did not mean to imply that helmets do not matter because I know they do protect the head in case of an accident.

The man injured has the right to not wear a helmet and is within the law. Do I think its a smart choice, absolutely not. My husband always wears a helmet and when I use to ride I always wore mine.

Its a matter of choice and those that choose to ride without head protection will suffer the consequences in the event of an accident. They know the risk and are willing to take that chance.

tippyclubb..did you read this post of mine? I AM sending prayers! However, the injuries might be different had he been wearing a helmet!

Good to hear he was responsive after the accident. A prayer going up that his injuries are minor and that recovery is soon and full.

I agree! When I see a rider without a helmet I worry about that persons safety.

thanks to those who acted on the idea of praying for a man who might not have been wearing a helmet. If God had no mercy on us for being stupid, none of us would have any hope of heaven.
