Default Key FOB not working

Is there a service near The Villages that checks/reprograms key FOBs? I have one of two that the car doesn't recognize anymore. And no, it's not the battery... Thanks!!

Search on YouTube, for example, I searched for 'Chevy Cruze key fob programming ' and a bunch of videos showing how to do it came up.

We just changed the batteries on our RAV4 and part of the process is to pair the FOB with the vehicle. This is done after you change the battery, you need to hold the FOB up to the start button and press the start button. Check your owners manual or YouTube but it could be vehicle specific.

ACE hardware has replacement key fobs, but I am GUESSING the original fob has to be working.

The least expensive place I have found to get either a new key FOB or to get one programmed is the Affordable Lock and Key locksmith in Lady Lake. They are cheaper than ACE Hardware and a car dealer.

Mine stopped working also but it’s a big process to open up the car’s doors to replace an inner part. Expensive. I opted to use my keys like the old days!

I did all those steps and so did my garage people to no avail. Sometimes it’s the door’s mechanism.

Car Keys Express 443 404 9828 Lucas
This is a vendor who shows up at Sam’s Club a few times a year. I took his name and number in the event I might need him. Good luck.

Try a You Tube search for the issue.

We have a Toyota with a FOB problem years ago. We visited the dealer in Leesburg, they fixed it; for a charge, of course. Was worth it.

I programmed my new spare one, looking at a Youtube video. I would have had to drive 1.5 hours each way to the dealer in Gainesville, then pay them $50.00 to program it. It took a few minutes to watch Youtube, then about 6 seconds to program.

I just used affordable locksmiths in lady lake. Got a new fob programmed in less than 15 minutes. Very reasonable as well

BEST thing and FIRST thing you should do it Google it. I bought a new keyfob for my Chevy sonic and above the $90 they wanted for that, they wanted to charge me another $90 to program it.

I googled, "How do I program a keyfob for my 2015 Chevy Sonic." Took 15 seconds and saved me $$$$.

It must depend on the fob because Ace was a little cheaper than Affordable Lock and Key for me.
