I think this is the worst season since 1966?
But then there was the 1967 " Impossible Dream Team"
Yaz hit a ton of home runs for me Tom in Strat O Matic baseball

SOM. I am still planing on getting an SOM league when I'm down there. I am leaning toward the 61 or 56 seasons. But if it means a difference I will be flexible.

Being a strong Yankee fan, it still hurt to see the Bosox self destruct. A shame. Hope they can rebuild fast. The money they saved from the big trade should make them shoppers in the FA market. Swisher is a free agent and I doubt the Yankees will resign him again. Swish would be a great addition in Fenway.

Bobby V's abrasive style did him in. Not popular with the players and I think they didn't want to play for him anymore. It seems like there was a great exodus of ball players. Some might say that it was a salary dump but it can also seem like he wanted to get rid of troublesome personalities. I think managemnet backed him but he was his own worst enemy especially after he alienated Kevin Youkillis. Not a popular move in the clubhouse.

They where considering John Farrell a while back for being their manager but he is presently the Toronto manager. We'll see who they bring in.

I think they would need someone who is going to groom the younger players as they are in the rebuilding mode after the salary dump. Of course it wouldn't hurt to get along with veteran players like Pedroia.

Heck of a player is Pedroia. I wonder how my Red-Sox buddy feels in terms of what was a worse season, last years collapse or this years implosion. I'll have to ask him.

Naught a gud yeah foah Fenway Pahk!

I just wish Cano hustled like his counterpart second baseman Pedroia. Cano is an outstanding talent BUT he doesn't hustle at all times. Derek should have a long talk with him. I have seen some great second baseman such as Richardson, Fox, Maz, Morgan and Alomar, and Cano is almost as good defensively. But the whole packagee Cano is the best becaus eof his bat. Just wish he'd bust his ass a little more. But everyone can't be a Pedroia, Jeter, and Rose. And from a Yankee fan "I hope the Red Sox rebuilding period is a short one."

:agree:

Nothing irks me more than a player not hustling. You think these guys would realized how priviledged there talent is that allows them to play a game for a lot of money. They consider themselves performers soooooooooooooo....

PERFORM.

I hope there rebuilding goes well as they is nothing like competive, combative games that are meaningful. Red-Sox vs Yankees battles are the best in sports. They usually last over four hours.

Pedroia and Lester are cancers - Suxx need to get rid of both of them over the Winter and rebuild.

Here's an idea. Pedroia and Lester for A-Rod with the Yankees eating the extra money on his contract.

Put Pedroia at third base for the Yankees and he will be fine.

As usual in professional sports...the inmates run the asylum!

What took so long? How did he last past the big LA trade?

John Farrell sounds like a good idea. Frankly, I was never a big Francona fan, but I wouldn't hesitate to bring him back.

Favorite Bobby V.Moment

Getting thrown out of a game and applying black tape mustache (ala Groucho Marx) to "disquise" himself.

You're kidding, right? These are the two players they need to build a team around. They got rid of all their cancers. They are now living in LA.

Pedroia and Lester for A-Rod? Two young stars for an aging underperforming second baseman? Why would they want to do that? Do you want to get rid of Will Middlebrooks as well?

Yes I was kidding. A-Rod is on the downside of his career and still has several years of big bucks coming to him. IMHO - he doesn't have the heart of a champion like Pedroia and Jeter.

As a Yankee fan , I hope he gets it together for the playoffs. that's the least he can do for 28 million.

Call him Arod, call him Irod call him anything you want. I call him a big mistake.
