Things don't look promising for the non-hitting New York Yankees with Verlander coming up next but that's why they play the game.

If it was played on paper, the Yankees would win every year.

I've always said that money will not buy championships but you can guarantee you will make the playoffs. It's pretty frustrating to see them struggle at the plate.

There is a boatload of money leaving the shores of Swisherland and Grandersonland as they are invisible in the playoffs and I'm sure that will factor into their free agency contracts.

Being a die-hard Yankee fan, it is obviously very hard to see what is happening. And although it looks VERY dim,
remember one thing - they are still:

If the Yankee bats wake-up and find a way to beat Verlander, then CC starts game 4 and probably wins evening the series.

Read this article about Yanks vs Verlander this year. Tex says they like facing a familar pitcher, even a Cy Young winner, as opposed to someone new. Good perspective here.
