There should be no list of banned players. Let the voters (Baseball writers) considered all the facts when they vote.

They should be in and will be in.

Waiting until Rose died at least gives MLB HOF the satisfaction of him being unable to celebrate.

But if they earned those stats by cheating?

Shoeless Joe died in 1951.

Major League Baseball has become a joke. Ghost runner in extra innings, starters only going 5 innings, then blowing through the bull pens pitchers. I think there have only been four complete pitching games this season. Very few fans in the stands at most games. Now the gambler, Rose, being eligible -- SAD!

Rose will have a tough time getting the necessary 12 out of 16 votes from the Classic Era Committee, which only votes every 3 years. Two of the personal attributes considered by committee members are integrity and character. It's not simply reduced to on-field accomplishments.

Dead I guess.

By cheating do you mean illegal drugs to make them stronger?

So, does this mean that the "permanently ineligible list" is permanently ended? How can anyone ever by put on the list again, if it is not permanent?

It boils down to living legends can cash in on the prestige of placement into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Those that have passed on can’t.

If TOTV members voted, what would you do?

My vote

Rose - yes
Jackson - yes

They do not belong. Betting and fixing games should be grounds for lifetime banning.

That lifetime ban expired when they died.

My error change lifetime to permanent banning. Not to mention character does count or at least it should

The Pete Rose ban was a "permanent" ban, not a lifetime ban.

If it was a lifetime ban, the commissioner didn't need to do anything.

Fact or S.W.A.G?
