GEICO. Bundle it.

We have always used USAA but The Villages Insurance beat their rates. Worth looking at them.

If not bundled, can someone make a recommendation for homeowner ins? My homeowner insurance went up by over 25% in 2 years.

We purchased Travelers (home, auto, umbrella) through The Villages Insurance. They will do the search for you and send you a quote to consider.

After 30 years with State Farm for our homeowners, auto, umbrella etc, we got rid of them for egregious increases. We went last year with Farmers for the whole kit and caboodle. Our Agent is Peter McCumber at 352-272-1508. He will be happy to quote you. Good Luck.

State Farm went out of the home insurance business in 2010, but came back a few years ago. They quoted me about 3X what I was paying. I have been with them for 60 years with my car insurance and had homeowners with them until I moved to Florida. Now I have American Integrity through the Villages Insurance, but rates have gone up, so am shopping now for new company.

Geico for the car and ASI for the house. Cannot beat GEICO. ASI IS ONE OF THE FEW THAT COVERS SINK HOLES.

Call your local Allstate office

I have Allstate for my vehicles and St Johns which is a subsidiary of Allstate for my home including sinkhole and catastrophe, all done at the Abshier Insurance Allstate Office, great folks, extremely happy with coverage (also golf cart).

Years ago we had a GE subsidiary that doubles home insurance rates in 7 years -even my agent was astounded. Like cable and other things - you MUST compare on a regular basis. My Geico went up $ 300 last year so I switched to PRogressive. Now I get a geico letter pleading to come back daily. Their response as I asked why so high upon renewal was market has changed ! Yeah right .. my car is worth LESS and I have a year MORE experience driving.

And State Farm is going to return some of you premium, I think the figure I heard was 2 billion dollars so that might help.

I just went through the process of acquiring quotes for home, auto, and golf cart insurance during the last quarter of 2019. We have been here for 5 years and happy customers of Thomas Insurance Agency (Fruitland Park) but the rates for the companies they sell for continually raised, without any additional benefits (and no claims). I priced Villages, Allstate, State Farm, and AAA. By far, AAA was best - and better without being bundled because they were able to give the lowest price with comparable or better coverage. Prices for comparable coverage were lower on home and golf cart. Price for home insurance was $9 less for the year than what we were paying through Thomas Insurance, but the AAA policy also included sinkhole insurance which we did not have before - so that was a "win" for us. We've been members of AAA for years, so that was already in place. If you have a AAA credit card (or want to apply for one) there is also another discount available when you pay your premium with it.

A few of you mentioned you have sink hole insurance. My understanding is its only good IF it damages your house. If the sink hole appears in your yard and doesn't damage your house insurance doesn't cover that and you will have to pay the tens of thousands of dollars out of your pocket to repair it.

Traveler's Insurance through The Villages Insurance. I recommend Sandy Manion. 352-751-6622
I found her very knowledgeable and helpful.

Some insurance companies use a strategy called "price optimization". They raise prices for their most loyal customers because they know that most of them will not shop around for another company. It's all about increasing profits, even though they know they will lose some loyal customers.

Aaa

We recently switched to AAA from progressive and bundled car and home for a $700 yearly savings.
