Uninsured motorist is also a waste especially at the high rates that are charged for it. You should all DO a LOT of reading about UM in FL. This is a GOLF CART not a car. Once again, if you have medicare or private insurance you are covered. UM (either lower coverage) or not at all is probably 1/3rd or more of your rate.

You're right about the medical payments coverage. A friend was injured in a golf cart collision and when she needed to go to rehab, the rehab facility declined to accept their golf cart medical payments as primary and her husband had to come with $$$ in cash before they would admit her. I cancelled that coverage on our policy so that Medicare would be primary.

Try Progressive Insurance. I paid $119. They list it with Motorcycle insurance

OP with a follow up. I contacted Villages insurance last Friday to ask them to research a cheaper alternative for golf cart insurance. I wonder why, when we already have homeowners and car insurance with Progressive thru Villages Insurance, they did not originally quote Progressive.

Regardless I contacted Progressive today and got a quote of $102 for 1 year golf cart insurance with same coverage. Plus I will have a slight decrease in car insurance for multi policies.

It will be interesting what Villages Insurance will offer when they follow up.

Allstate has been the best for us.

I just got a quote from a Farmer's agent in Orlando. Golf Cart insurance is out of line. Their motorcycle quote was good, though.

Golf Cart Insurance

Tom52. Good coverage. How much is your policy annually?

dhelfer6 06-10-2020 07:48 AM

If you go to The Villages Ins in person, they may be able to get you a lower rate. The same thing happened to me a few years ago and they were able to get me an even lower rate than I was paying. And I was able to stay with foremost. I had called foremost directly and they said they could not help me, but The Villages Ins did. Give them a try.....

To put it simple: yes exactly the same- their increase and no claims ever $208. I switched to progressive yesterday even though it was within $2 different. For me, it was the moral and ethical reason. The more I think about it probably has to do with CVD 19 and they have to make up dollars lost for the year- not to say that I agree with this practice cuz that increase is too huge IMO. Things just seem way out of whack this year. Like... Twilight zone episodes every part of life circumstances. The sad part is that this will be the new normal and they will never decrease!

I started with Foremost golf cart insurance in 2011, and it was $140. Over the years it had gone down to about $90 and then last year shot back up to $140, and the new bill came yesterday at $102. I've never had a claim or a ticket.

I can live with $140 or less. My neighbor that I play golf with, said he doesn't have golf cart insurance. He worked for a major insurer in Jacksonville for several years, and said it's covered under his homeowners. From I read, it's only covered if you're traveling to and from the golf course and on the golf course. That's his decision.
