Buy at Home Depot
14" solar tube at Home Depot cost $299 with the tax. It comes with about 40inches of "tube". You may need to buy 2 extensions to reach the roof line at a cost of $44 with the tax. The Sumter permit is $65. Falling off the roof- is priceless.

solar tube
We had the solar tube installed in our home in Wisconsin about 3 years ago and are very happy with it, solar fan as well. When we were in the villages, we looked at solar tubes and fan. After looking at the Solar guys product, we also looked at the Marion County Fair. We are going to go with the guy at Marion County Fair because it looks to me to be a better product for the same money.

Thanks to our past customers for recommending us. We try to keep our pricing very simple and can give you a accurate quote right over the phone. We have been in thousands of villages homes and every model. Of course we have our local showroom on 441 1 mile south of the Market of Marion. There you can see different sized units installed in different sized rooms with all the different options and fixture styles. You can also see us this weekend at The Villages Craft Festival (Spanish Springs) on January 5th & 6th.

Well after dragging our feet, we finally had our solar tubes installed by Solar Guys in our Iris. The results are amazing! We had two 14" lights installed with upgraded fixtures for $1300. We installed one in the kitchen and one between the living and dinning area...wow! what a difference. Hope this helps.

Solar Tubes in an Avalon model?
Just wondering if anyone has added a solar tube in the premier Avalon model? We are building one in Pinellas and just curious. Visited The Solar Guys store last month to view attic fans and the solar tubes. They also do the reflective coverings on windows. We may need that on west facing bedroom windows. Any recommendations on that? We are excited about our August move to TV! This site has answered so many of our questions and we are excited to meet all in our new neighborhood....and beyond!:a040:

Solar Light Company Comment
Just to let the site know I had my Solar fan installed by Solar Lights and More. About 2 years later is started to leak. My roof is really new but I called the roofer. He indicated Solar Fan installer had torn shingles. It took this company about 1 1/2 weeks to get out to my place. During that time we had a lot of rain. The company examined and indicated it was not the fan but did seal off the torn shingles and a place they found open at the end of my roof vent. I think that the roof vent is supposed to be open. The company would not take responsibility for the leak or the damage. I also had to pay a 60 fee to have the installation checked which I was not made aware of before they came to the house. They are supposed to have a lifetime guarantee on installation. I talked to the company rep and did not get any help or sympathy and for sure no resolution. I was then left with brown water spot on my ceiling to figure out on my own who or how to fix it. I guess what I am saying I would not recommend the company Solar Lights and More out of Ocala. Will now go to Solar Guys like everyone else in the villages for any additional solar lights.

The light from solar tube installations I have seen has the color of fluorescent lighting. Are there any filters to yellow the color of the incoming light. I do no like fluorescent lights.
