Standard or DST doesn't matter to me and won't effect my life whatsoever. The only difference to me would be keeping it permanent would alleviate my having to change a bunch of clocks in the house. I empathize with others that might be affected by more or less light at a given time related to leaving or returning home from work or school.
If I had a vote on the matter, I would vote to keep one or the other permanent, period. Now, pardon me while I go out to the garage and get my ladder so that I can reach the kitchen wall clock to change it to reflect the DST change once again. For some reason, certain persons un-named can't simply read the microwave or stove clock and insist on having a larger, easier clock for ailing senior eyesight. On a positive note, I will change the battery too, so that I won't have to climb up there a third time during the year instead of just two times for the periodic time change.

Apparently everyone wanted it, and then hated it.

Nixon’s Daylight Savings Time Still Controversial After 44 Years

A couple notes from the article:
The most important analysis regarding the effectiveness of DST regarding energy use is a 2008 National Bureau of Economic Research study that found “contrary to the policy’s intent — DST increases residential electricity demand” by about 1 percent. Although DST reduced demand for lighting, demand for heating and cooling dramatically increased.

Many health and safety experts also have a negative opinion of Daylight Savings Time. According to the “Fatal Accident Reporting System,” there is a 17 percent increase in traffic fatalities on the Monday after the shift and fatal motor vehicle accidents remained elevated for the first six days after the clocks spring ahead. A recent medical study indicates that DST time change may also increase the risk of stroke due to sleep disturbances.

This is a step in the right direction, but let’s move the clocks back in November and just leave them there. Everything will be great with “year round dst” until a couple of kids are killed at the bus stops in January.

Schools will adjust their schedules once the time-change madness stops.

Almost correct. Arizona does not participate in DST. They stay on Mountain Standard Time year round, with the exception of the Navajo Nation, which does do DST.

Thank you for the correction

Just can't avoid some political statement can we.

It was a fun little nonsense post, and someone had to bring in politics.

Oh well...

So, didn’t rub you the right (left) way.

I can see it now, massive nasty protests about “vested interests” and their mandates trampling on parental rights to dress their children in stealth clothing. Gov. DeBozo and the clowns will have a field day!

Personally I don’t care what time frame we use. My routine is the same everyday no matter what time we use. Don’t know why we care what we use except maybe the farmers like spring ahead time. Don’t get it!

You do know that studies can be slanted anyway they want them to slant, don’t you? All of this is ridiculous when you think of all the time changes people go through constantly.

I think the biggest complaintants are old people who don’t want to mess with clocks and don’t want to get up early and others who don’t deal well with any change.

The Senate has passed legislation making DST permanent in 2023! Next up the House has to pass it, then the President signs it and we can all stop suffering ...

At least that is my so humble opinion.

But it’s much to hard to take a vote on LOWERING PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. DST doesn’t even have Lobbyist’s

That business about the farmers lobbying for DST is actually a misnomer. Per Google........

Myth: Daylight Saving Time was Created to Benefit Farmers
The truth of the matter is the agriculture industry lobbied against daylight saving time in 1919. Some believe it was then that farmers became associated with daylight saving time, even though they were only involved because they were against it.Nov 5, 2021

As a young adult, I was never a fan of having to change the clocks twice a year. That was when VCRs had to be changed too. As a senior, I feel the same way about changing the clocks.....do not like it. I say pick one and stick with it.
