According to the logic you are using, it would seem that we would hear about a lot of children getting killed in Arizona since they have been on DST for years. Also back in 1973 we did not have the high quality head lights. Accidents will still happen, but not just because of the change in time.

Dark mornings, forever.

The sun shining when I am ready for bed many months of the year.

Deprived of the ability to enjoy sunset and then twilight for many months of the year.

School children waiting for buses in perpetual darkness most of the year, though they would have both left for school and come home in the light if this had not been done.

I think it is a horrible thing.

I have other reasons to consider living abroad but this certainly has added to my list.

The horror of a world where there are fewer sunsets to be seen, where mornings are always dark. I am so sad.

This to shall pass!

The Senate has passed legislation making DST permanent in 2023! Next up the House has to pass it, then the President signs it and we can all stop suffering ...

At least that is my so humble opinion.

I didn't see this thread when I started another thread this morning about this same subject in the "NON Villages" discussion forum.

Sorry.

The obsession with turning the clock one hour twice a year makes it appear we’ve turned into a land of cupcakes, melting if the time is adjusted. Be sure you never leave your time zone, don’t travel overseas for business or pleasure. Don’t you wonder how the seasonal residents from different time zones survive the madness? It’s enough to cause the vapors…

Agree very strongly with this. My husband traveled for a living and he always said there is a way to "beat" the jet lag and he dealt with time zone changes globally all the time. I just read in an article that the body will NEVER catch up even with a permanent time change. Personally, I think that is pure hogwash.

Why not? This time change business effects each and every one of us plus a whole lot more "stuff" that I don't even think about let alone know about.

That is a very valid concern. In an article I read this morning, there has been talk that states want to change their time zone too if and when a permanent time change is put into law for our country. This is more complicated than I ever knew was possible.

Stay on standard time, I’m not happy waking up in the dark!

People like us retired folks just may sleep later if it remains darker later in the morning. DST will do that for us. It just may keep the roosters asleep longer too so they won't be crowing so early.

Every child should be given a reflective vest.....no ifs ands or buts about it. They should be supplied by the school and the child must wear it when going to school in the morning. Do you think that may help?

I'll betcha it won't pass the house for a bunch of silly reasons. How about just leave us(and time) alone and pass this bill.

Do these "fools" honestly think there is one more hour of sunlight? Seriously? Oh dear is right!

Agree, kids going to school in dark dangerous. Maybe on move 1/2 hour instead to fUll hour? Course then got people that live on the time zone line. West side of line good but east side of line suffers.

No, the parents should be required to buy reflective vest for their children, after all they made choice and it their responsibility.

Amazing how someone can make an insulting comment and someone else comes along and thinks it is real.

Just amazing.
