New York City just issued a PSA in the event of a nuclear attack. The primary points are

1. Get inside
2. Stay inside
3. Stay Tuned (to news
)

City offers tips for aftermath of nuclear blast

How effective will this be?

4. Bend over and kiss your ass goodbye.

Of course it depends if the burning, looting and murdering is mostly peaceful. Then it is OK.

I also was in school in NYC. They had us go along the walls in the room, crouch down and cover our heads. Thank God all the siren was ever used for was to let everyone know it was noon.

Only in New York, a failing, corrupt city, would you see the 325,000 city employees waste even more money on this nonsense video. Someone needs to tell them that "in case of a nuclear attack", they will be vaporized instead of having the time to stay inside. Why would anyone bother to live in such a corrupt city wrought with crime and infestation?

Get inside
- fast
- get into a building
- move away from windows
stay inside
- shut doors and windows
- go to the middle of the building
- get clean immediately
- remove clothing and shower with soap or shampoo
stay tuned
- followmedia
- sign up for notify nyc
- officials will send wireless emergency alerts (weas)

so, i see lots of "cheeky" comments. It is a news station, "slow news day?", it is good advice. Will it save everyone - nope. Will it save anyone - "maybe". And yes, i know, if anyone suggest that anyone should do anything that is not 100% effective, well, there is no point to it, is there?

If they do nothing they are criticized, if they do anything they are criticized.

I think we could shorten any post about ny or ca into "new york" or "california" period, and i am sure there would still be plenty of posts talking about what is wrong there.

i thought the last action after taking the shower was to, "bend over and kiss your sweet a-- good bye"!!

Maybe you should tell them, since you seem to know more than the people doing the nuke war gaming.

no joke. Add this to the two other plans that have been drawn up, what to do if the nuclear plant is breached and their defense against dirty bombs.
For the power plant, they have been giving us potassium iodine tablets for a few years now (this is in ny about 30 miles from nyc.).
Nyc also has many ways to tell if a dirty bomb is travelling throughout the streets.in the city. Frightening stuff, but it would be more frightening if we did not have plans.

correct. The agency is called n.e.s.t. They travel in normal everyday trucks and vehicles to search for nuclear threats in our cities in the sky, on the land and from the air.
It's all in this book

There seems to be about 12 million people that disagree with you, and I expect are glad you don't live there.

Personally I have no interest in living in NYC, but I appreciate some people do.
