Still, overwhelming agreement on TOTV about anything is quite an accomplishment:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

So, it appears almost unanimous, no (c)rap at the town squares : )

Correction…Not rap, but “hip-hop”. Not my kind of music but to each their own. I just wish that the NFL would remember that the Super Bowl is watched by young children and avoid those questionable and at times, objectionable lyrics and movements we witnessed during the halftime. Great game though. Congrats to the Rams.

Call it what you want, rap, hip-hop, whatever. If you put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.

For all the previous years of the Super Bowl Halftime shows when there were OLD/Not current performers that many had to sit through and watch. Many dont fully understand the appeal to the younger generation.

That was the difference between music and noise

What's the difference----garbage is garbage, no matter what you name it

They thought the show was bad also.

You have to wonder just who the NFL is targeting - but more, who the NFL is ignoring. It's certainly not randomly planned.

Well well......After 60 posts on the subject, I think this thread had run its course. Let's look forward to nest years SB in Arizona!!!!!!!!

It was the worst halftime show I ever saw, and I only saw the first minute or so...

Yup, my dad told me the Beatles were just a fad and wouldn't last long. However, they actually came around and started to like their music after they heard a band on a cruise ship play Hey Jude. From then on they liked "some" of their music.

As far as Rap and Hip Hop, I have tried. I have listened to it on shows like Saturday Night Live and last night at the Superbowl but I come away questioning what the hell I just heard. I just don't get the appeal and regret that it is permeating the music world. Almost all of the replies on things like Twitter and even a segment on FOX News praise it as the best Superbowl Half-Time Show of all time so I, and most of us, are totally out of touch I guess.

The best part is I will be dead and gone before the Squares have Rap music every night but it will probably happen eventually. Until then I will enjoy my "real music" like Rock, Folk and the Blues. There is a reason you can still find the "oldies" on many radio stations and there are many young people who are discovering it today so maybe there is hope.

Prince. And do not disagree. You will be wrong... :icon_wink:

I stopped watching half-time shows years ago. I decided to look at this one just to see if the hype "best halftime show ever" was in any way true. It wasn't. I wondered what I would see in the headlines this morning and wasn't disappointed. "Emotional Hip Hop Halftime Triumph" was the first line of the Drudge Report headlines this morning. I must have been watching something else . . . . .

Personally, I found the women dancing at the beginning of the halftime show very empowering to young women everywhere...

I mean, nothing like a good "twerk" to be taken seriously and not be seen as a sex object...
