I used to like the nicknames that we had for ethnic groups… made things easier on the job site …I really miss those days.. work ethics & ethnics were the backbone of this country … now we have neither

The media's bias problem affects more than just CNN, and many Americans have caught on. According to a new Gallup study, 86 percent of Americans believe media outlets are politically biased, with 56 percent of Americans saying their own go-to news source has "a great deal" or "a fair amount" of bias. Maybe this helps explain why a record 33 percent of Americans in 2020 put no trust at all in media. There's two ways for cable news to drive a politician out of office. One is to fairly report on a corrupt politician's egregious abuses of the responsibility voters have placed in them. For example, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo could have asked his brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, why he was forcing elderly people with COVID into nursing homes which was agreaves. mass media to report the news fairly and accurately -- up from 28 percent only the year before.

OK, so admittedly this is somewhat of a troll.

I know better than to think the conversation will remain civil, but I'm curious.

In today's world, we'd be pummeled for characterizing a person of color, as a ... (insert your own adjective).

We surely don't call people with physical disabilities, "cripples" or even "handicapped".

In some circles of government, words like "terrorist" are even verboten.

Hardly a comedian in the world, would risk mouthing a "Polish Joke".

We're not supposed to identify folks, based on their sexual preference or even their "birth gender/sex". Essentially, it's no longer deemed proper to identify people based on their lifestyle choices.

The acceptable stereotyping of our youth, has gone by the boards.

Aren't words like: "yankee", "northerner", "snowbirds", etc., used in the same sort of derogatory way, unacceptable stereotyping?

I read and hear those words every day in The Villages, used almost exclusively as a pejorative.

Lol this thread is doomed from "hello." - Oh wait, maybe it's just infraction clickbait for some on TOTV.

Heck, look at the Washington Redskins. Who did that offend, not any Indians that I know. I now call them the Washington Pacifiers.

I was amazed when the judge, in the Rittenhouse case, wouldn't let the prosecutors use the word "victim" referring to the people he shot.

1st reply, that didn't take long.

Bagels have a religion? Learned my fact for the day. Did you hear the joke about the man who was speaking to the priest about holding a funeral service for his dog?

Sad. I always thought that was a great classic logo. The new W is just so safe and sterile.

Redskin or snowbird aren't offensive unless you say it to someone with $#@! in front of it. :duck:

Some people don't think it be like it is, but it do.

It's up to us (the silent majority) to stand up and fight back. I have no problem saying what I want. If I offend someone and they tell me, then I apologize ....I don't do it intentionally, but if someone gets offended, I tell them that they need to get some thick skin.
I refuse to give in to the PC and WOKE crowd. I say what I want to say and speak my mind. As for the gender/pronoun issue, it doesn't exist for me. Male is male and female is female. If you are one and want to be the other then just don't be in my face about it.
The current PC culture no longer wants us to accept the LBGTQrstuv people, the want us to worship them.
I'm proud to be anti-PC and will be that way till my last breath.

They mostly were juveniles. If you disagree please tell us how you would better "describe" them?

Well, Bless your heart... :icon_wink:

The rest of your post contradicts that statement.
