Having to explain to some confused older patient if they had a preferred pronoun was obviously not in the original job description for the poor lady. There was nothing judgemental about it. |

The fact that there are 7 pages of responses and only (2) people understood my simple, basic English, speaks volumes about the reading and comprehension ability of Villagers. I suppose you could consider my conclusion "stereotyping", but the facts seem to warrant the conclusion. (I don't think the terms "Snowbird", "Yankee" or "Northerner" are inherently pejorative, they just always seem to be used that way in TV (& perhaps other places I don't frequent). |

I’m Not Sensitive
I’ve heard all the terms and used most myself. I don’t anymore, especially if they bother someone and I know it. It’s amazing how many purists have never used the terms?
Hmmm, what to do with my Mastercard? |

Master
When I was a kid younger men and boys were addressed as “master”. The term is still used quite a bit over in England. Is it derogatory now?
