The response is almost always "driving a car similar to one that was reported stolen." I guess they don't bother checking license plates.

You also have to remember that other ethnic groups, who have had struggles but been assimilated, came here of their own volition and are white. After the accent disappears, usually with the first generation, there is nothing to denote that the children of immigrants are different from other white Americans.

Hmm what about all the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, etc who came here learned the language sent their kids to school and became successful.

My eyesight is not what it used to be but they do not exactly look like they are Caucasian do they.

Sorry. Not trying to argue with you, but just trying to share perspective from an obviously different background.
I grew up on the west coast in an ethnically diverse community. As kids, we played together, went to school together, etc. In the service I served with a racially and religiously diverse group. In civilian life I, again, worked with a diverse group of folks and many of those were my superiors. I never experienced or observed "systemic racism". I have known people that got into trouble and claimed it was because "they pick on me because" ...(insert reason/excuse here: ie, I'm gay, I'm Jewish, I'm a woman, etc). As far as the backpedaling, anyone who ever did, said something to a superior only to realize the other individual was their superior just might try to come up with an excuse for their mistake. "No, boss. I wasn't calling you an idiot. I was just talking to myself."
As to your statement that all other immigrants came of their own volition, that is not totally true. The English routinely banished "undesirables" to the colonies to serve "their betters here. Chinese were robbed and Shanghai and sent here as servants or to work on the railroads. There are many more tales of woe. And, not all Black Americans were brought here as slaves. Many came of their own volition to escape injustice from their own people in Africa, or more recently, to make a better life as other groups have done.
As you can see, " all came here of their own volition and are white" is not quite correct. Asians, Hispanics, Middle Eastern people, Pacific Islanders, and others might be offended at being called "white". And even the accent is dependent on the language spoken in the home.
In conclusion, I simply wanted to share a perspective from a different part of the American experience. What I keep hoping for is an America that is like my experience as a child, with everyone working together, playing together, treating one another with fairness, equality and mutual respect and love. What I don't want is a country divided by anger and hatred, violence and destruction. As the man once said, "United we stand, divided we fall." No one is perfect, but we can try to be better.
Stay well. Stay safe. Peace!

Enough protesting. What are their demands? Who is in charge of them? What the heck will make them happy?

You could never do enough to make them happy! They are the only ones that can make themselves happy.

Some mainstream protestant denominations I am familiar with are firm in their beliefs that every human has value. I am proud of my friends in the big cities who are pastors and who are encouraging their congregants to raise their voices for justice. Micah 6:8 says "and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God." I fear that many who call themselves Christians today have forgotten or choose to ignore what is expected. It is our responsibility to stand up for those who are not treated justly. I realize that train of thought does not currently line up politically with many right now but maybe it's time for some self reflection. At our life's end we will have to account for how we treated each other.

I’m a Christian, BLM does none of what you said, it is whites that are treated unjustly and with hate, and I’m disgusted with Christians that support BLM. Whites are not being treated like they have value, they are being denigrated 24/7. It is BLM supporters that are going to have to account for how they treated others at life’s end. I wonder how many churches are driving Christians away because of this.

Here's an interesting piece from MIT. Relates to indoor spaces and scientists’ evolving thinking. I hope it helps.

If the coronavirus is really airborne, we might be fighting it the wrong way
If the coronavirus is really airborne, we might be fighting it the wrong way | MIT Technology Review

Takeaways:

Staying Safe: “strict mask use” … “the virus sheds like crazy” …. but for masks to really stop the transmission they have to be tight and worn all the time (even around family) .. “sanitizing every single surface … huge waste of time.”

Variables: longer time indoors … restaurants, bars, offices, classrooms, churches. Ventilation needs to be a higher priority (big problem in older buildings). UV Light dissipates the virus in air in less than a minute.

Advice = stay in well ventilated areas with as few people as possible and spend as little time as possible in enclosed spaces.

Ahhh, someone with FACTS !!! Too bad! Facts fall on deaf ears down here in The Villages.

They, including many whites, are all spoiled. Given too much without having the responsibility of having to earn their way. They need a job, but the government pays too well.

BLM and virus was perfect storm. Unemployment allowed protests to continue. Hoping America survives this tough time for all.

I was born on the west coast and lived there almost my entire life and had the same experience you did. That is why I’m so disgusted with BLM.There were different races and they all got along. There were 3 black kids in my high school and one was elected to be a cheerleader back in the 60‘S and 70’s. I’m not seeing racism in other states either unless it is hate towards whites .

Check out the surge in COVID19 positive since the Tulsa, OK rally.

A governor blocks groups of 50 or more, EXCEPT BLM protest. Sounds a little prejudice?

and yet ANOTHER wonderful weekend in Chicago... and where is the MAINSTREAM MEDIA and BLM leaders??? shhhhh.....

47 shot, 7 dead in Chicago this weekend

Mayor Lori Lightfoot never assumes any responsibility for the shootings and murders in Chicago. If she is not responsible as she would have us believe, should we then compliment her for a job well done? Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet the shootings are out of control. It’s safer in Kabul.

There are 59 active gangs and more than 70,000 gang members in Chicago. Yet, Lightfoot blames the federal government, claiming they need a federal strategy on reducing the number of guns. Meanwhile, the federal government did offer to help Chicago and she refused the help.

Also, criminals who commit gun crimes get right out of jail.

This weekend 47 were shot and 7 died, ABC 7 reported. A teen was shot standing in a park, another teen, a 14-year-old was killed while standing on the street. His family said, “I’m sick of it. I’m tired of it. We talk about Black Lives Matter, but I’m sick and tired of what’s going on in the streets,” said Erikka Gordon, the boy’s aunt.

The boy was the brother of a boy recently killed.

Three women were shot in the Avalon Park. One of the women died. The other two, 28-year-olds, are in fair condition.

A 52-year-old man was shot in the neck and died after an argument.

During the Fourth of July weekend, 87 people were shot and 17 died, 13 of those were minors.

Mother reportedly murdered for saying ‘all lives matter’?
By M. Dowling -July 12, 2020

An Indianapolis mother, Jessica Doty Whitaker was shot and killed following an altercation with Black Lives Matter thugs or supporters of BLM who were upset that she and her fiance said “All Lives Matter” on July 5th.

According to her grandfather, Dale Snavely, she was murdered for saying ‘all lives matter.’

It didn’t make national news.

“According to the victim’s family, the shooting started with an argument over Black Lives Matter and language. Eventually, the two sides separated and walked away from each other, until witnesses claim the killer opened fire from a nearby bridge and ran away,” Fox 59 reports.

“It was squashed and they went up the hill and left we thought, but they were sitting on St. Claire waiting for us to come under the bridge and that’s when she got shot,” the victim’s fiancé Jose Ramirez told the station.

Jose admits he returned fire but didn’t hit anyone. He says Jessica Doty Whitaker leaves behind a little boy.

“She shouldn’t have lost her life. She’s got a 3-year-old son she loved dearly,” said Ramirez.

Her grandfather posted on Facebook that “multiple black assailants” from BLM shot her in the head.
