Why did you write Yikes! ? Are we looking at the same photos? I think the women look great. The new brows made a huge improvement on finishing a look that focuses on the beautiful eyes of each person.

They are not permanent and always appear much darker right after you have the procedure done. Within 1 week the scabs will be massaged away and the color tones down immensely. And as time goes on the color will fade and then it's time to have a touch up (usually in 1.5-2 years).

If the color is still too dark after a period of time, any type of anti-aging products will fade the color more quickly.

I had my brows and eyeliner done a few years ago and have continued with touch ups for the brows but not the eyeliner.

If done by a skilled professional (and do your due diligence), you will love them.

Couldn't get on the utube link - said no longer available. InAwe would appreciate if you could post a photo so those of us considering this would have more confidence.

Double Yikes! I agree with Rayschic. I think a lot of these people looked better before the eyebrow tattoos. In almost all cases, I think the "new" eyebrows were harsh and not flattering at all.

I also watched another video on the Youtube link posted by Rayschic. It was an instructional video given by someone who performs the procedure. It showed her performing the whole process. Yikes again.

But I did get a PM from a conservative friend who had the procedure and loves the results.

I said Yikes because I (a guy) don't like the looks of them. Maybe they look good to other women.

Bare, you look dark haired.....maybe it would work for you. I'm white haired and light skin....practically NO eyebrows, but it's never bothered me. (But I also don't wear makeup) I'm just too afraid to do something permanent like this. As long as you do your homework and see clients in person that were done by the "artist" of choice.....you should be fine.

I was also turned off by the utube video. Did not like the looks at all!!

Don't be terrified; just do it. I hardly have any eyebrows and when mine fade, I get "touched-up." It's the best money you will ever spend!

Do the people who perform these procedures at Cals and at Making Faces use any kind of a numbing cream first?

I suppose that someone could start the eyebrow tattoo procedure by having a lighter colour with not a lot of coverage. And then as confidence grew, it could be darkened if necessary. I see some people advertising "feather strokes" which sounds more natural, but perhaps they all use the same procedures.

Since Cals in SS is open to the public, can you actually watch the work in progress? Or is it done in a private room?

I had my brows done this morning by Shari at Cal's. She used numbing cream and it didn't hurt. Yeah!!!! I was concerned about that. So far so good. She told me they will lighten about 50 percent in a couple of weeks. That should be perfect. I will let you all know in February. Shari was professional and has been doing this for 14 a years.

I had mine done New Year's Eve and they are healed and toned down. Shari also filled in a scar on my left eyebrow from the first attempted eyebrow liner. She is awesome!

gerryann 01-14-2014 11:15 PM

Would love to see a pic. :)

Where are you girls getting your bravado from?? I need some. Thanks, Randall, for mentioning the numbing cream.

I bet if you posted pictures, we'd all love to see them!

We are going on a cruise the week of Feb 1. The brows should be lightened a bit and we will take pictures. I will post then. I think I will be glad that I did this. I have always been a risk taker.

Looking forward to the pics. Have fun on your cruise.

I had mine done at Cal's a couple of months ago, and although I still cannot use the word 'tattoo', I couldn't be happier that I did it! Honestly, they look so natural that I sometimes have to remind myself when I look in the mirror. I would do it again and now I love the fact that I don't have to worry about the correct coloring, drawing it on, shaping them, etc.

Here is the after picture that I had recently taken from our Cruise.
