leaving meaningful facts along with reported is why. You can't report # COVID cases (yes just a positive result and not sick) and evaluate those numbers to put it in perspective.

A positive COVID test result is not hospitalization not alone DEATH! The odds are way in our favor of not dying (not reported).

??? The hospitalization numbers and death numbers WERE reported in that aarticle. Are you upset that the article did not analyze the data in a way that provided results that you wanted? I prefer reading the facts.

Funny thing about odds - 98% seems like a really high number until you find yourself in the 2% group. If your power was 98% reliable then it would only be out about seven days each year. Sometimes 2% is not really that small.

(We don't yet know that Omicron is much less deadly than the other variants. Things numbers are pointing in a good direction but the next week or so should tell.)

Data on the latest variant (Omicron) show your chances of severe illness or death are low even without the vaccination...

It is an inarguable fact that 100% of people on earth will die of something...

If you are over 50 or 60 you have a GOOD chance of having a REALLY bad hospitalization and a GOOD chance of DEATH. For example, I understand that Glen Beck says that he is UN-vaccinated and he has had 2 bouts with the CV and he currently is in an ICU with it. I have HEARD this 2nd hand. I have not looked it up for a black and white print verification. So, don't excoriate (whatever that means) if the info is off a tad. I am not a fan of Glen Beck or of the deceased Rush Limbaugh so I will NOT bother to look it up. To others, it may be meaningful. My thoughts are if you have CV twice, then God is warning you to get your shot (notice I will NOT refer to it as a jab, which is low rent!)

I wonder if they have name tags in HEAVEN? Or how else do you go about recognizing your old friends? Old people ALL start to look the SAME to me!

I can find nothing that states he is in the ICU... But that does not surprise me...

Source? Oh, right you can't be bothered to "look it up". You just post it here...

My daughter has had Covid twice before the vaccine had been offered to her age group and worked right through it from home. Her cardiologist suggests that she hold off on the vaccine. She has an active lifestyle and has not slowed down. Covid has not scared her into submission. She did get tested before visiting us, though.

It’s not just a random 2% of those who get the virus that die. That 2% is predominantly older, overweight people with multiple additional health issues. If you don’t fall into that category, then your chances of dying from Covid drop dramatically. Now it’s a fraction of 1%…

Perhaps predominantly but not exclusively. In any case, who cares about those old fat people anyway? Just think how much insurance premiums will decrease and how much easier it will be to get a table at the popular restaurant.

Wow, such anger! If you fall into the at risk category, get vaccinated if you choose to. If you aren’t in the at risk category, the chances of you dying from Covid are much, much less than a myriad of other possibles.

My opinion IS that it is like an urban legend. Because MANY expert Doctors state that CV deaths are UNDER-reported. Some die at home and are listed as "natural" causes. And there are probably other reasons for under-reporting. Early in the CV pandemic, a Florida administrator quit her job in protest of Florida's UNDER-reporting of all CV stats. That made all the news. It can likely be Googled.....if forgotten.

Opinions are opinions and facts are facts, but over 800,000 US citizens have died WITH CV, not FROM CV.

People seem to forget, its not "all about me". Its about your fellow citizens. Everyone doesn't have the luxury of staying at home, and trying to avoid the virus. No matter their best efforts, fellow Americans work at jobs and they may be vaccinated but catch the virus from the idiots that won't get vaccinated, etc., and they may possibly spread it to someone at home that is at risk. Why can't people be less selfish? We know that N95 masks work - why not wear one when in crowded situations or when going to get groceries, etc.? You might be helping someone down the line.

Because N95 masks have not been available until recently. Selfish? This is the first time in history of ALL the deadly diseases we have endured in this country where you have seen so many folks wearing masks. Do what you have to do, but quit ostracizing others that see things differently than you. Wear that mask while you are sleeping, if you wish. It's your choice, but don't tell me that I should in order to not be "selfish." Demanding someone act a certain way to make you happy, is being selfish.

“ they may be vaccinated but catch the virus from the idiots that won't get vaccinated” ?🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

So vaccinated people can get Covid, but only from unvaccinated people?!? 🤯🤯

It would be interesting to see the stats (if they were possible) of those that were infected by family members, especially spouses.
