Default Golf Groups

Okay - - - Many of had/have this issue! Golf group that has played for years, either from the street/group has diminished either by death, illness, moving only to executive course or relocation.
How does one find a new group accepting new players on championship course. And not Mens day which is in the AM - - - just awaking!!! Tried golf pros at local pro shops (Bonifay, Belle Glade, Etc) near my residence and they are clueless and unhelpful!!

Any suggestions? - please no smart a** answer or snide commentary!!!

Next time you play a Championship course, chat up the Starters. They know who runs the best groups.

Do you really think that is all the golf pros have to do? You could go to one of those places and walk out on the practice green and ask people yourself.

I play often as a single and sometimes get an invite to join the group I am paired with. I have made some great friends this way too.

It takes a while before newcomers to The Villages, learn that the Golf Professionals in The Villages, don't function like the Pros at a typical country club or even muni golf courses.

At most every golf course in the world, what the OP asked, would be a priority for the club's Golf Professional. The OP did EXACTLY what a golfer should do.

I found an after work group and we play championship courses on Thursdays. Name: Happy Hour hackers. A very good group of guys and from I can tell, the books never close. I'm sure you'd be quite welcome.

Same here. In fact, the very first round I played in TV was with a threesome at the tail end of a whole bunch of foursomes tee times. While their group was huge and bigger than I wanted, a couple of them gave me contact info for smaller groups.

Try starting a group. Let the starters know so they can let people know. Chat up people you are paired with and see if they’re interested. Check with your neighbors/club members.

Default Golf group

I run a small group that plays on championship courses on Monday and/or Friday mornings. You must be a priority member with a GHIN. Games are played each round for a $5 stake. If interested, you can email me at gooeyg1952@gmail.com.
My name is Dan.

Play as a single in open spots. Then get to know those players and ask to join the group.

Go by yourself
..you will be put with others and maybe make a connection this way or ask neighbors or people you do other activities with, such as cards or games.
