In my head a nothing story is not important to anyone but the writer. There are far more important things to think about and news to follow to see where we are heading. And if you don't read a nothing story, or block me, you are no worse off. It's like a joke you didn't hear. On the other hand, if it get's you thinking about a similar feel good experience you haven't thought of in years, whether you share it or not then maybe it's something.

[oh God, I think I watched too many Mr. Roger reruns---and wearing that zippered sweater playing golf is getting awfully hot]

Honestly I don't know where the fungi came from I think it was the stress about the NOTHING or my usual obsession with food. I hope it didn't come out wrong as I find your stories very amusing and that one was particularly funny I would have liked to have seen it.

I shouldn't admit this but I passed out when they removed the packing..

Yeah, not to bring back bad memories for you but my husband said it is NOTHING but amazing how much of that stuff they can pack up in there.......ugh! His problem was more of a claustrophobic kind of thing though. He hated not being able to breathe normally when it was in there. I know that would do me in as well. Speaking of those kind of issues, did I ever tell you about the time he cut his cast off after a torn achilles tendon surgery? Again, same kind of issue - he couldn't stand having that cast on so had one of his contractor friends (who is even crazier than him) bring over some kind of saw and cut it off. In the meantime, my husband had found an alternative boot that they use on athletes and some other devices he used to promote nerve regeneration. He didn't tell the surgeon (who is renowned) what he did until he walked into his next appt with the boot on. He ended up with what the surgeon said was one of the quickest recoveries he had ever seen, so he won that battle.

If so, I totally agree. I love reading about harmless prank stories.

What is it with men? My husband broke his arm once and used his cast to open a wall up at a fire. The male brain is NOTHING but a mystery.

tomwed 08-19-2018 01:08 PM

So I tried to go to a 2 o'clock showing that was on my smartphone---moviepass appp--and when i got there----nothing. I'll go to a later show.
oh well, If I was called a mushroom it's because I go to movies spore-radically.

Now I feel NOTHING but bad for even posting this. You know I don't believe that. And you're right, the 2 of you will enjoy each other's company immensely especially while Mrs K and I go shopping. :icon_wink:

Btw, speaking of Mrs K, I assume she's working again today? So what's for dinner? NOTHING?

Yep. Her weekend to work. She'll have Monday and Tuesday off. Then I'll place myself available Wednesday night. NOTHING but back to the fire grind..

Darn, is there NOTHING we can do to stop you? Will this work ? It's all I got - lol

Glad to hear that Mrs K has off a couple of days with you. Hope you don't have too much work to do yourself at the office those 2 days. If we miss you, we know she surely misses you more. You shouldn't make yourself so missable......lol

The only thing that will keep me from going out is this little respiratory thing I have going on. The smoke kinda got to me the last couple of days. Not sure if I got a whiff of some burning poison oak or what but I have NOTHING but a sore throat.

As much as Mrs. K. misses me it's her mother that worries herself sick when I'm out.

I can only imagine how bad he smoke is since they reported seeing it on the east coast. I don't imagine the heat from the fire does your respiratory system any good either. NOTHING but a lousy job but without you guys there would be NOTHING left.

Aww.....NOTHING like a mother-in-law that loves you.

About the respiratory thing, yeah, that's not good. Just ask Nucky. If you're not 100%, you better wait to go back out. You're not getting any younger you know, even if you are still a young buck to some. Plus inhaling that smoke, no matter what age, can't be good. What else can I say to convince you to stay home.....lol

Salt water gargles might help with the sore throat for now until you see if it progresses to anything else. Lozenges help but mainly just for the dryness. I will tell you though, I often keep Sucrets brand (you remember those?) lozenges on hand because I actually think they help a little more if the sore throat is really painful versus just scratchy.

You're not making any points here.. :boxing2: lol

I put a cough drop in my mouth last night before I went to bed. Woke up this morning with NOTHING but a red pillow and my mustaches was glued together.. :1rotfl:

The smoke has been NOTHING but bad. On the west side of the state which usually has good air quality due to being close to the coast had the worst air quality ever recorded (for here) one day last week due to the smoke from our fires and smoke drifting down from Canada.

Lol.....thank goodness at least you didn't choke to death! If it bothers you to sleep, try taking some ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen (Aleve), but make sure you take it at least a good hour before laying down with a little something to eat and a full glass of water. That's if you're allowed to take those kinds of meds. Some people with stomach issues and heart issues shouldn't. You could take Tylenol instead, but it will only relieve pain while the other 2 relieve pain AND inflammation which is obviously the usual cause of pain in a sore throat.

Okay, that's enough or I'm going to have to do NOTHING but start charging you and your bill is already pretty high with the things you owe me or are going to owe me. :icon_wink:

Yeah, I was thinking you've pretty much got it made. NOTHING but a lucky man you are......

I always told my son if you're going to get married, marry a nurse or a teacher. A nurse for obvious reasons and a teacher for if you have kids because they are generally home in the summer. I guess a pharmacist isn't so bad either. At least I was able to bring in a decent income when my son was little by working part-time around my husband's hours. Whereas most of my friends found it wasn't worth it to work because their entire salaries would have been spent on daycare expenses. I don't know how young people do it today.

Telecommuting is NOTHING but a wonderful thing as are flex hours. I could work any hours I wanted which sometimes included nights and weekends for some projects but I did it from home with my dog under my desk.

Yes, another wonderful option which seems to be becoming more commonplace.

On another note, good grief, going outside of NOTHING can truly be dangerous. I was lurking on some of the other threads and was tempted once or twice to chime in. Glad I didn't though. Seems I can cause enough commotion right here in NOTHINGVILLE - no need to venture out there. Daggers flying left and right it seems. Is it raining down there or something? I know it's been a miserable day up here. Enough to make anybody cranky, I guess. Hubby and I got out for a short walk earlier today but that was about it. He keeps saying he's going to the gym but made the mistake of laying down on the couch as he was saying it......

Oh, never mind, one NOTHING was busy today. You should be like my husband, K, he would have taken a nap all day then expected me to do all that laundry. That is one way you 2 are NOTHING alike. He can fix cars, do repairs around the house, fix computers, and on and on, yet for some reason the clothes washer totally befuddles him. Hmmmm......you think I'm being taken for a ride here?

Men like NOTHING more than machines that make loud noises. At least that has been my experience.......and my annoyance. Like my husband, for example, thinks the only thing one has to do to say they cleaned the house is to run the vacuum cleaner.
