I think that anyone is NOTHING but blessed to be married to a firefighter.
It takes a special kind of courage to do that job.
And firefighters are often NOTHING but handy around the house, another plus!

So true, I can add NOTHING more. He is part of a retirees association and they all still get together and keep in touch and help each other out.

That is NOTHING but great news. How is your wrist today?

Barefoot, thanks for your NOTHING contributions today and also for the info about ganglion cysts. I am pretty convinced that mine is tendonitis. It is doing really well today. Hardly any pain at all and the swelling has gone done significantly. I think I'm going to follow my husband's treatment plan. He may not be a firefighter (whom I admire greatly), but he's a pretty good "doctor". I always said he should have gone on to med school, but he always told me NOTHING doing.

Thanks so much for your concern.

So happy to hear that your wrist is feeling better. Seems Dr Google may have been correct. It was nice to get an assist from Barefoot keeping NOTHING going. Now we need a story from Tom and a report from Nucky and a check in from K

tomwed 08-22-2018 07:53 PM

How about a nothing story? I repeat myself quite a bit mostly because my memory is slipping. Did I tell the story about my sister, her grand daughter and Mary Poppins?

How weird is that? I just got back from a movie---and was writing, suggesting a nothing story as you were writing a request.

I think I told the Marty Poppins nothing story so I'll try a new one.
My parents bought a travel trailer while I was in college sophomore year and spring break was coming up. I suggested to a friend that we take it to Provincetown over Spring break. I read it was a hippy town and seemed like we could have some adventures. Back then everyone hitch hiked and we picked up a girl on the way, pretty close to P-Town. We asked her for a bar we could hit and she said we had to go to Piggy's. I asked, why Piggy's? and she gave me a zodiac answer about the owner being a Sagittarius and we were in the cusp of the third moon. We pretended we knew exactly what she was talking about. I remember getting close to P Town and seeing a sign at the fork that read Provincetown---either way. I didn't realize the sign was more then a road sign. So our first night we get to Piggy's and head to the bar, order 2 beers and check out the dance floor looking for girls. Then I noticed that some boys are dancing with girls just like home, some girls are dancing with girls just like home but some boys are dancing with boys, not like home. Apparently I must have noticed 2 boys dancing and spent a moment too long trying to figure this out. When the next song starts one of the boys comes over and asks me if I want to dance. I said "NO" in a voice I never had before or since. I sounded like Mr. Ed saying "No--ooo-oooo" in three octaves. The guy said, that's cool, no problem and left me completely off my game which was pretty flimsy to begin with. I think Steve and I were the only 2 guys that went to P Town looking for Ft. Lauderdale , Girls Gone Wild action and ended up looking at antique stores and Army Navy shops.

This reminds me of the days before the ability to Google search everything. Our adventures often included wading into uncharted territories knowing absolutely NOTHING and encountering more than a few surprises along the way.

Lesson learned here, not all resort towns are alike.

The Kommander is in the house. Good to know because I am NOTHING but too tired to stay awake any longer. Just nice to know he is okay before going off to bed........good night, all.

Kenswing 08-22-2018 09:37 PM

Howdy. Nice to see NOTHING busy.

I’m at a beautiful camp. Actually it’s a state fish hatchery. And yes, mother it’s an hour closer than the other camp.

One of my buddies saved me a spot right on the river. Remind me to post photos when I get home. I just got a picture of six deer crossing the river. This place sure takes your mind off being on a fire.

Abby10 08-22-2018 09:57 PM

I think you scare everyone away. Either that or they all fell asleep with their NOTHING on. I'm still here because I didn't want you coming home to an empty NOTHING house.

Your camp sounds NOTHING but beautiful! Can't wait to see the pics.

Good morning NOTHING. Glad to hear that your location is better this time around. I know it is still not a vacation though, so stay safe. My sister closed on her house in Arizona yesterday so she is now in your time zone which is very strange for me.

Aww......I missed ya! Hope you remember what day it is, not that it probably much matters.

Maybe if I get a nap in today I won't fall asleep on you tonight. :) So happy that you have such a nice setting to come home to after a long day, besides NOTHING of course. Have a safe day!

Thanks for bringing the morning in, fw. I guess I should mention it is Thursday, August 23rd - Day 2 of K's current mission. I think I'll keep count this time, maybe it will lessen the pain of his absence from NOTHING. Actually I shouldn't complain since it could be a lot worse. Imagine if he couldn't even check in every day. And this time his conditions seem to be a little better which is comforting. Darn, am I the only one who gets so attached to all you people on here who I know next to NOTHING about?

Anyway, I didn't realize your sister is just now moving. I thought she was already settled there. How exciting! At least "meeting up" with K on a daily basis has gotten you used to the time zone difference. He's right though, I had forgotten that Arizona is one of the states that doesn't do DST.

And now your posts are making me yearn for the New England coast. I haven't been up that way in so many years even though I have plenty of relatives to visit between MA and ME. I keep using my time off to go south. Maybe it's NOTHING but time to consider heading north one of these days.

Abby10 08-23-2018 08:09 AM

One more thing worth posting on NOTHING, if for NOTHING else as a follow-up. How'd you like that double NOTHING? Is that a first?

Anyway, driving home from work last night I was thinking I should put the splint on my wrist. I hadn't worn it all day because it's too difficult to work with it on. Then I realized, why bother? It doesn't even hurt! Then I got up this morning realizing I never even put it on when I went to bed last night and I felt NOTHING all night - no pain, no NOTHING. I looked at my wrist this morning in disbelief and saw no swelling!

So now I think my husband's a genius - lol - and he's loving every minute of it. :)

For anyone interested in what it was that he used on me, here is the website -

ReBuilder Medical - ReBuilder, Highly Specialized TENS Unit Neuropathy

Just wanted K to know it wasn't what HE thought it was - lol!

Nucky 08-23-2018 08:17 AM

FW, I’m happy that your sister got out of hell’s half acre before the bad weather. From what I remember you guys up that way got NOTHING but way more snow than us. Once she gets settled at least you have some place cool to visit.

Mr K I’m glad you’re safe and settled and hopefully thing go great for you and your NOTHING brothers and sisters. Praying for rain! Heavy Rain.

That is great news, I am so happy to hear that. Your husband definitely sounds like a keeper.

It is very strange to be so attached to people that if you met in the street you would not even recognize but I do consider all of you NOTHINGS to be very good friends. People who have been NOTHING but genuinely kind and understanding.

I’ll bet that unit would come in handy, ah fuggetabouit! The is a family show till after dark.

Yes I was disappointed that she did not want to come to Florida but am happy that she has found a place away from the hellish winters. The year before we moved we got so much snow that cars were buried and the last piles of it were there until July. NOTHING but horribly depressing and with all of her medical issues very dangerous.

Yeah, he has multiple gadgets like that. This one is a specialty TENS type of unit. We have, or at least had, (he keeps loaning them out and then we have to figure out who had it last to retrieve it!) a regular TENS unit, plus he has the big machines like at the chiropractor's office. Believe me, it has helped him through a lot of his back issues. We were just talking about taking those machines to TV and where we were going to keep them down there. He may have to hook you up to one of those big boys someday, Nucky, and see if it helps you too.

As far as your last statement - :ohdear: - only you and K. Although I must say, my husband got a good laugh when I told him about K's response so I guess I should NOTHING but :ohdear: him too. What a crew you all would make once everyone gets down there.

Once we get up I count the day as done. So tomorrow is the last day. Thank you Baby Jesus. I’m gonna miss the kids but this is the cross we must carry. Lol.

We had a Munsterathon last night. I was ready for sleep at 9.30 but the little NOTHING’S lasted until 11 PM. I love em but it’s time. Oh boy is it time. These kids are like little Rats. Every time I try to sneak a snack (like Scooby-Doo) they Rat me out to the diet cop, Mrs. Nucky.

Speaking of the Mrs. NOTHING BUT R.E.S.P.E.C.T. how she kept the level of energy for two months is amazing.
Maybe she had a Tens Unit Hooked up under her shirt. I couldn’t do what she does. :bigbow::bigbow::bigbow:

Your wife sounds like NOTHING short of an amazing lady. Glad to hear you will be back to your normal routine soon. Although these kinds of missions in life can be good diversions and often times a lot of fun (definitely gives you stories to talk about down the road - lol) but they also can be hard on you especially as we get older and need to concentrate on our own health and general well-being. Speaking of that, I'm glad you and Mrs. Nucky are in the clear from that nasty bug you both caught. Stay well, get caught up on your rest, and take in lots of pool water - lol!
