Fw, here is my secret. I sometimes need motivation to clean. It's easier when I have a real deadline, like company coming or if we're having a party. But when I don't, i play this game. Like the movie today - I'll try to first get myself out of my mental funk by starting to watch a good movie, usually a suspense or action movie. Then I'll stop it halfway through, or at a really good part, and force myself to clean before I can watch the rest of it. It's as if I have to treat myself. I hesitate to use food as the treat because that could be NOTHING but dangerous for me, so this seems to work better.

With MIL here NOTHING stays dirty. I swear I'm about to duct tape her to the couch. If there was one dirty sock in the hamper she would wash it.. I made us grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. She almost burned herself on the grill, washing it before it cooled off. lol

Poor thing, she sounds like me. One Christmas when our son was still living in Indiana, we drove 10 hours to be with him because he had to work. I brought food to cook but before I could make the meal I found it necessary to clean his kitchen first. NOTHING but pathetic.

On to another dilemma. Does anyone else but me have problems with getting bottles with pumps to turn correctly to work the first time or am i just an idiot? I know, NOTHING like a loaded question.

Well I'll leave you to your fun....lol. I just finally finished watching that not so scary movie and waiting for my guys here to come home. They were out for the evening. I better get some sleep or I'll be worth NOTHING tomorrow.

Have a good rest of your night. See you tomorrow.

Well, at least Mrs. Abby is not alone. The design of the pump bottles change constantly and you usually find our when we are in NOTHING but a critical need condition.

My MIL showed us about cutting the bottles of whatever when they stop pumping so we can NOTHING but get the last amount of whatever out of the container. NOTHING but smart, I do it and fondly think about her often. Her biggest wish was to move back to Florida because moving north was killing her with the cold. We had our moments but I was lucky to have the bestest :bigbow: MIL out of anyone I know.

Thanks for the memory!

I'd be happy to do that. I'd do it for a meal, but for you, NOTHING would be fine too. :icon_wink: I recently told my husband that was how we were going to eat in TV. I'll clean for meals and he can do landscaping and odd jobs for the same - lol. He is an awesome landscaper - not by trade of course, just a gift.

Yesterday I was remiss, so let me just add -

Today is Friday, September 21st. This year is going to be over in no time. It feels like it just started!

Thank goodness I'm not alone. Shampoo is one culprit. Last night I wrestled with not one but 2 bottles of skin cleanser. When I broke the first one trying to get it to work right I thought I would try the second one and just use the same pump for both. Of course, I broke that one too and now I'm left with NOTHING.

I know they tend to stop working right toward the end but sometimes I can't get them working from the beginning........ I do the bottle cutting thing too. It's amazing how much is still left sometimes - what a waste to just throw it out.

Looks like most of you guys, including my husband, had great MILs. That is NOTHING but a blessing. Hope one day, if I ever become one, that I can be a blessing to my DIL.

I can't believe how fast the time goes by down here but like they say time flies when you are having fun (or getting old)

My husband does all of his own landscaping also in addition to his building skills and mechanical ability. Seems to be NOTHING he can't do and your husband sounds equally gifted.

Stephen King's BD is today. He made some movies and wrote some books which are NOTHING by scary.

Only watch if you like being scared. The Shining (1980) - Here's Johnny! Scene (7/7) | Movieclips - YouTube

I don't know if it's me or what, but 2 days in the past week I've gotten up and noticed the time stamp on the last posts from the night before have been off by an hour. It happened again this morning. Then after I came downstairs, had my coffee, and got back on the time stamp was corrected to the proper time. Now, not that any of this matters a whit, but I'm just wondering - is it the desperate need for coffee in the morning that has me so disoriented or is somebody messing with my NOTHING?

It's NOTHING more than your computer being a 1948 Toyota Deer Model. Time for an update. The gerbils inside the computer want to retire!

Yes indeed, he is a master of it. The Shining - funny story - my son was admitted to intensive care for NOTHING more than a case of mononucleosis when he was about 15. They put him there because his case was so severe they were giving him morphine for the pain among other meds and he needed to be on a monitor. Since it was so late at night, they rolled in an extra bed for me and told me I could stay there overnight with him. So surfing the television channels and being an avid Stephen King fan at the time, he came across The Shining and asked if I would mind if we watched it. Of course, I said not at all. Well, by the time that movie was over I sure could have used some of that morphine just to sleep. :22yikes:

Hey, don't blame it on my old gray mare. But I will say, sometimes it's NOTHING but a lesson in frustration when you need to track down a replacement for a part gone bad and they want to charge you an arm and a leg for it.

I can relate to that. And not for NOTHING. The book by the same name takes you even more into this history of the Overlook Hotel.

For some reason when I was quite young there was a movie I frequently had nightmares about. It was Fantasia Fantasia (1940) - Rotten Tomatoes. I turned these animated creatures into the things of nightmares. Much like Stephen King did with a clown in It.

Nobody can post NOTHING if I'm out for the day? Is that how it works around here? :undecided:

Better watch out, K - hubby and I went out to celebrate meeting a long awaited financial goal for the purposes of retirement. We also received some news recently that hopefully hubby will be able to confirm in a few weeks about the possibility of selling our house sooner rather than later. But I don't want to get you worried for NOTHING.......

I started out the day pretty good as far as accomplishing stuff, then my husband came along and dragged me out for a celebratory lunch. Well, he actually didn't have to drag me - lol. Then when I got home I realized how tired I was and took a nap. Now here I am doing NOTHING when I should be finishing up what I started earlier.

I try so hard to get you worked up, and why? All for NOTHING. You have to be the most laid back, steady guy I have yet to know - lol.

But for that very reason it's a darn good thing you're the Kommander of this ship. Imagine the rough seas Nucky and I would have this ship going through if you weren't here. Poor tomwed would be in the galley trying to keep all the dishes from breaking and fw would be hanging on for dear life hoping for NOTHING, her favorite pasttime, to return.

So the next time the thought of retiring as Kommander goes through that cool, calm, collected head of yours, just come to this post and refresh your memory as to the NOTHING disaster that would cause.

You sound a lot like my husband. He is the most laid back guy, but watch out if he really gets upset about something which thankfully is almost never and definitely has to be about way more than NOTHING. I guess that's why he keeps me around. I bring all the excitement to the table, although I doubt he would call it that - lol.

About Dew - with a personality like his, he may be all we need for a party.

And thanks to all of you for the congrats. It's just making us feel a little more comfortable about the direction in which we are heading.

Yep, I think my husband and I had a perfect practice day for retirement. As he was going out the door a few minutes ago he turned and said to me, "I did absolutely NOTHING today" and then he added, "in fact, I did NOTHING yesterday too." He's a professional retiree already. :1rotfl:
