Well the good Catholic woman across the street from us at a going away party said that there were too many Dicks in our neighborhood when a third moved in a few months ago after two of my favorite people moved to be closer to family because of a family tragedy last year on Valentine's Day when they lost a 14 year old grand daughter. Really shook up the dynamic of our tight net neighborhood and not for NOTHING. And I am sure a lot of memories are being stirred up as February 14, 2019 approaches for the couple who moved as well as us as a group. These anniversaries can be a bear. Even if I had decided to mount my own bear and run with it in various directions.

That is funny and sad. Several of the homes in our neighborhood turned over this year but we have been NOTHING but lucky in getting new neighbors who are nice and get along well.

Most of ours do too. And not for NOTHING. Things like the shooting at Parkland leave very deep emotional scars in the extended families affected by them even the neighbors of grand parents of a child lost. They are now closer to their surviving grand kids though which is good.

And these two were wonderful cooks with respect to Italian food.

Nucky was NOTHING but right. I laid down on the couch today to try to take a nap.......again. My wonderful hubby ran upstairs to get my favorite pillow, covered me with a blanket, and put an extra log on the fire. Then I said, "Well I'm rolling over now to face the back of the couch to see if Nucky's plan works". Within a New Jersey Nucky minute I was sound asleep.........Zzzzzzzz........

Thanks, Nuckles!! :coolsmiley:

The Walking Dead is not NOTHING but I will probably skip the Grammys even if they might have something in them I should see. I probably will not even watch the 2-24-2019 Oscars as I am not all that thrilled with award shows.

I could catch the highlights of both the Grammys and the Oscars on Facebook and elsewhere. And/or hear stuff from Facebook friends about the Grammys and Oscars.

I have NOTHING but the answer to that particular dilemma. All you have to do is switch over to Streaming your Television instead of Cable or Satellite and you would have plenty to watch around the clock.

Took about a month to settle into the package that suited us plus the free channels that are offered. It's almost too good to be true. Our pay Channels are Your Tube TV $43 a month and $16 for Philo TV which may be enough by itself. This combination was given the Good House Keeping Seal Of Approval By Mrs. Nucky. A real Rarity and Virtual Impossibility. :1rotfl:

It's a snap to set up.

Yes, pretty close. Lots of shopping (online of course) -- getting around to nothing but things I haven't done since we moved here. DH convinced my sister to come when I have the hip surgery -- I don't think it's as much for me as it is for him! But having a hyper-critical older sister come to visit for a few days while you are incapacitated does provide both an incentive and the motivation to get some things done. (It's like cleaning your house the day before a housekeeper comes or washing your hair before you go to the beauty salon. LOL).

I'm turning a portion of the master walk-in closet into a dressing area. Just received delivery of a perfect vanity and triple mirror for the space.
On Tuesday electrician comes to install a couple of outlets. Need to figure out what I want to do about lighting. Definitely fun things.

Oh, and for some reason I have been searching for Pink Flamingos, Garden Gnomes and wrought iron Cranes -- Can't figure out whatever has come over me. :1rotfl: :1rotfl: :1rotfl:

Lawn ornaments are OK in our area in the backyards some of which face the more heavily traveled streets. The front yards of many homes actually only are seen by people going into those cul-de-sacs for whatever reason and usually not for NOTHING.

Nucky 02-10-2019 11:28 PM

I think that anybody who Rats a Person From Crooklyn never knows NOTHING about the outcome of their measly complaint. :1rotfl:

Those who follow the rules are on the money and wouldn't survive a day over here with some of the things used as decorations.

What's the deal with the markers from the Golf Courses as decoration? I think they look great. It is a Golf Community, No? Is it OK or was it supposed to decorate inside the house in the Chi-Chi Rodrigues Room? :boxing2: FORE!

BK001 02-11-2019 06:20 AM

Good morning all,

BK here reporting for nothing. I don't want Nucky to consider me AWOL. The next thing you know, he'll be sending Mario and Luigi into the closet to find me.

Just finished ironing the new bedroom curtains (what a pain) but I can't stand wrinkles. Expecting an area rug for the bedroom to be delivered today. We is on a roll! Wheeee.

And yet it is still beautiful over there, still part of TV and most everyone is friendly and gets along. I did not retire to come down here and be a snitch and I have better things to do than worry about lawn decorations. NOTHING but MYOB and BYOB for me. :1rotfl:

Saving Private Ryan was in my Blu-Ray player much of this morning and last evening. Great movie. The assistant casting director's parents live in the Villages or did the last I looked. Talked to the father of the casting director who when Shakespeare in Love won the Oscar for Best Picture instead of Saving Private Ryan he was quite upset. Sure like that depiction of the battle Normandy and environs of June 6, 1944 through June 13, 1944 a lot better than Shakespeare in Love.

I saw that Ryan movie five times when it came out and try to watch it at least once a year since. Saving Private Ryan (1998) - Rotten Tomatoes

A few more views of NOTHING yesterday and last night with a count of 238, 030 as of 8:09 AM EST 2/11/2019. Still running a little over 500 views per day. Yesterday's may be closer to 600 by the 8:55 AM count.

I Jiggy with what you're laying down there FW. I don't remember if I mentioned it so here goes. Someone called in on us whist we were in N.J. over the summer because of an overgrown lawn and weeds in the cracks of the driveway. :1rotfl:

Let's see, have a landscaper extraordinaire, Choice Maintenance who takes care of it all. Then we had a House Sitter and The Villages Service who checks the house and various friends and neighbors with an eyeball on the joint. So fret not. I was in or past compliance. All our decorative stuff was in the Garage in case of a storm so I didn't hurt anybody else. We were Spic and Span so to speak.

Maybe the caller gave the wrong house number as there is one Sloboleum in our hood but call? :boxing2: NEVER EVER! :boxing2: I'll let someone else mind their business. I'm NOTHING but with you! But for me, I'm for MYOB but I'm for BYO Iced Tea.:1rotfl:

What about the Golf Marker? It's NOTHING but 5 feet tall 2 feet wide and 5 or 6 inches deep. Weighs about 300 to 350 lbs or more. It's in the ground at least two feet or more. Good or No Good? What say Yous! It is beautiful and a conversation piece and every person who ever visited has wanted to take it home for their yard. It took 3 men to deliver it from the Maintenance Dept. at the Golf Course on their lunch break of course.

Nucky 02-11-2019 08:51 AM

BK, I've got the duplicate of the supercritical sister. NOTHING but a pain in the Driveway Crack. I limit the contact as its better for her condition. I'll NOTHING but leave that comment there.

We have NOTHING but an actual hydrant that my husband used back in the day that was given to us that he made into a light. We have it in our back yard behind our villa walls so it is not out of compliance.

I got your drift! :clap2: I remember when an Old Buddy said Smoke Eater one time and I had never heard of that before.

My Uncle Jimmy was a Firefighter and lived in a humongous Apartment Building next door to the Firehouse. My Uncle Alvin was fire chief of the Itasca Fire Department. I went to his funeral in 1994 and they had fireman from all over Chicagoland land there with a large procession carrying his casket to the cemetery or wherever it was actually going. He was almost in tears when he described to me his handling of a horrible plane wreck (Flight 191) and the recovery of bodies from it when he got called in as Fire Chief to deal with it and not for NOTHING.

They are also known as Jakes which is how our dog got his name. I have found that being a firefighter is not like any other profession because you only stop being a firefighter when you die. He still NOTHING but lives and breathes firefighting and follows the news on fire depts all over the country.
