Catch-22 | Book by Joseph Heller, Christopher Buckley | Official Publisher Page | Simon & Schuster

Catch 22 and One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest were two books I really enjoyed which I read in the 1970s and not for NOTHING. More about bureaucracy run amok rather than crime and punishment. https://www.amazon.com/One-Flew-Over.../dp/0451163966

My great uncle Robert Trueblood got me started on the M.A.S.H. books as well. List of M*A*S*H novels - Wikipedia

Same guy who tried to convince me that his maternal grandfather or something like that was related to Henry L. Stimson and that he had met Stimson as well as did my grandmother. That is the Secretary of War from just before WWI and then during WWII.

Doing NOTHING today but enjoying Rossini’s opera Guillaume Tell performed by Southwest Opera. womr.org. Outer Most Radio in Provincetown.

OMG, funniest thing today. On the home page is a message from a woman who wants to rent, and mentions she has a 12-pound s-h -i t -z u. Can you believe the auto censor removed the first four letters and replaced them by asterisks? LMAO!

My friend and nearby Village resident, Ron, had Scout who was one of these dogs and when Scout died he got Scout ll which is almost the twin of that s-h- i--t - z-u. He got rather angry when you emphasized the first syllable in a certain way when calling out the breed of this pooch. And not for NOTHING.

I think it is very cool that you can enjoy opera. It is NOTHING I could ever appreciate but I think it is wonderful that some people do. My daughters in laws are big symphony fans which is NOTHING I understand either but I think it is wonderful that people can have different interests and still get along.

Oh, hello. I am so, so sorry you haven’t had enjoyed an opera . Please don’t say it’s NOTHING you could enjoy. No, no, no! You’re smarter than that.

On Saturday December 15, at 12:45, The Rialto in Spanish Springs. La Traviata. The music is gorgeous as is the staging and costumes. THERE ARE ENGLISH SUBTITLES.

La Traviata is probably in the top five of the most popular operas. The broadcast is a live performance featuring sensational singers and actors filmed at a live performance at the Metropolitan Opera in NYC.

If you never watch another opera, let it be this one. Then, if you still don’t care for it, oh well...

I nothing but totally agree with HenryK. Now, FW, assuming you can't catch the performance at The Rialto, I highly recommend the filmed version of La Traviata, also with subtitles, that was directed by Franco Zeffirelli, sung by Teresa Stratas and Placido Domingo.

I have turned several neophytes into fans. You can pick it up pre-owned on Amazon for $6-7.00

Amazon.com: Verdi: La Traviata: Teresa Stratas, Placido Domingo, Cornell McNeill, Franco Zeffirellli: Movies & TV

It is nothing but celestial, trust us.

If anyone has the Balleensker's to try and read me like a book I suggest you skip several of the chapters from the late 80's & 90's cause you may not love me as much after you finished those. :boxing2: Just kidding straight A's perfect student, son, employee, employer brother, father, friend, associate, partner, financier, collector, advisor, consigliere etc. ad nausea, need Pepto. I would go a step further and say that both La Boheme and Madama Butterfly are also great first baby steps for nothing neophytes.

Do you have a favorite?
