That is true. One of the first woman friends I made here in the Villages-- outside of my neighbors whom for the most part are wonderful-- was a teacher from Ohio and ended up marrying a man 13 years her junior. They have the same BD of May 31. Met this lady in late 2006 and have talked with her quite a bit since January of 2007. She probably does not go on Talk of the Villages. Nor on NOTHING. Fascinating woman as she loves to travel and has many stories of her adventures. Places like the Galapagos, Russia, Egypt, etc.

You do meet a lot of quite interesting people here in the Villages. And I have probably met a few hundred.

Two of my favorite neighbors were a Spanish and a French teacher from Ohio. They moved back there to take care of family though. He was quite active in Villages' government at the local level. They also come back for a month stay once in a while.

For us on New Years day we start taking down our decorations. As much as I enjoy putting them up I enjoy taking them down and getting my house back in order just as much. I'm ready to gear up for Valentine's Day :a040:

You're so right - that is NOTHING but a toss up - lol.

Speaking of diets earlier, here is something I read in my morning quiet time (sorry, but I often do this before NOTHING, don't tell K) -

"Do not cling to old ways as you step into a new year."

I think we (meaning our society in general) put way too much emphasis on food and we often use it for the wrong purposes like for comfort, or to soothe anxiety, or boredom - you get the drift. So I propose we learn to develop new eating habits that we can carry through a lifetime. That will be different for each one of us, unlike a diet like WW where everyone is on the same food plan. I know what works for me but I'm certain it would be too restrictive for others and probably unnecessary as well. I need to absolutely abstain from certain things because they send me in a tailspin that is difficult from which to recover, sugar being a huge trigger. K mentioned cutting back on portions which may be all he needs to do and it will work for him. So my point is call it what you want - a diet, a food plan, or a lifestyle change - the point is not to cling to our old ways because obviously they were not working. So let's move forward in the New Year with the goal of not just losing weight but for the purpose of improving our health in general. Fw, you're NOTHING but on the right track with setting a goal to get off your BP meds which is a great example. Hopefully some of the changes we make this year will not just be temporary for the sake of taking off a few pounds but will become permanent for the sake of our overall good health.

So true. Sure I would love nothing more than to fit better in a smaller size but the truth is I know for every pound lost, there are so many pounds of pressure alleviated from my hip which will help after the surgery.

Woohoo! The world is still here. NOTHING marches on..

You got it. So much more rewarding when you realize you have more to gain from the weight loss than just what the numbers on the scale say. It can be anything from simply feeling like you have more energy to possibly reversing major health issues. If you have the excess weight to lose, there's NOTHING to lose by losing it. And I think the goals that have been set are realistic. You don't want to lose it too fast, especially if you have pre-existing heart issues of any kind.

Well, you may have to reel me in once in awhile. I tend to make almost anything NOTHING but complicated, but I'm sure you haven't noticed that - :1rotfl:

Gee, where's Nuckster on this New Year's Day? He must have had a big job to do last night and NOTHING but wore himself out in the process.

Well, he did allude to a job -- perhaps NOTHING to do with plumbing?

Well, I just got back. The plumbing went fine, its a job I could handle in the dark. :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl: No one got hurt, that's the main goal nowadays!

I tried Walgreens Pharmacy, No NOTHING Dice. Can you believe a Pharmacy closed on New Years Day, The medicine was NOTHING really important just one that helps me breathe and one that keeps me from peeing on my shoes. (Just kidding about the second on, read that one on the Joke Thread). Breathing is highly overrated anyway, I can make it until tomorrow. Thank God for the Oxegyn Concentrator or Bye Bye 2019.

Next stop oil change, on the car, not a lube job on me,:1rotfl: No Dice again. They must be hanging out with the people from the pharmacy. So we head to Atlantis Car Wash, The Bestest #1 Car Wash in the entire world. Better than me doing it myself when I could. Thank God they were operating at full tilt. For $23 they put the car back to the condition you drove out of the dealership. Not a totally wasted day.

You know sometimes when you have a leak you call a plumber sometimes you just have to do the job your own damn self. :boom::ohdear:

Here I is NOTHING is my friend. I was thinking about the DEER thingy on the ride back down here and didn't really know where I could stop being super concerned. You know which state does the chance lessen? Do we have any Duck Dynasty Type peoples who know the damn answer? Is that a trivia question?

I had a dream that I needed blood during a transfusion and they used Diet Mountain Dew instead, all NOTHING but brother :super:Talzmanian's:super: idea!

So I have to ask -

Are you all hung over from the holidays? Is everybody doing NOTHING but napping?

Or are we just trying to make a point to viewers today what NOTHING is really all about? Lol

I had a short nap had to go get some vodka as my parents were almost out and not for NOTHING. I don't like alcohol at all and do not care for its affect on me. So I also got some diet Mountain Dew and diet Coca-Cola.

Ran into my friend the former combat and now Villages Regional Hospital nurse. She was also at the Leesburg Psychiatric Hospital. She is a riot and has the energy of the Energizer bunny. She also cleans houses with her boyfriend. He seems like a nice guy.

Picked up the Blu-Ray of Bad Times at the Royale but this was long after visiting with the blonde nurse. I need to check the details in the movie.

I do want to bombard this ex- psychiatric nurse with a lot of questions but have not been brave enough just yet. Maybe she looks at NOTHING and will save me the trouble. I have only known her for a year or so though.
