I think this is the first day all week that we have NOTHING on the calendar, a perfectly blank page. We can just do whatever we want or NOTHING at all.

Looks like we're off to a good start already today here on NOTHING! When I read fw's post I was about to respond the same way, Nucky. NOTHING like having an open day in a perfect place with perfect weather. I hope you both enjoy the day whatever you do. I'll be here thinking of you as I watch for the snow to come and the temps to plummet.........:cold: Can't wait to throw out all these winter coats!

Every time they predict snow up north I turn to my husband and say how much I NOTHING but love Florida. My area up there could get 2 feet.

Yeah, my aunt and uncle are still NOTHING but stuck in Boston - poor things. They are trying to get my uncle strong enough to make the trip back to Florida. The good news is that someone in this household will be traveling down with them. The fight isn't over yet as to which one of us it will be - lol

I would NOTHING but claw my way to the top of that pile. I think that "someone" should plan on an extended stay until he is completely better.

Good morning all -
I've been up for hours but have been nothing but organizing bathroom -- hba's, cosmetics, medicine cabinet, etc. Amazing how much one accumulates. I try so hard to dispose and discard but I seem to need to do it in small doses. I watched 3 episodes of Hoarders: Buried Alive as an incentive (although I am in reality a minimalist, I still need motivation and watching the horror of that disease helps me to make uncomfortable choices "This is good - I may need it someday".) No less than 4 cans of hairspray? I haven't used hairspray in a couple of years, why am I keeping it?

So, have a great day all -- my goal is to stay off the computer today (a great avoidance mechanism - even if it is to google "organization ideas" lol. See you later.

I'll let you know the more than NOTHING outcome. Whoever it is will probably also be making a run to TV to check out some furniture in person. I would love to be the one and my husband wouldn't mind (after all, it is MY aunt and uncle - lol) but it just depends on our schedules and if I could get the time off on such short notice.

I NOTHING but love to reorganize and try to do it often. I am also a minimalist (married to a packrat)

I hear you on that one! Sounds like you and I are on the same wavelength for the new year - organizing and purging. Keeping busy around the house also keeps me from thinking about snacking, so NOTHING but good for the waistline too! Glad you checked in. Hope you have a productive day!

I kind of miss the snow. Have not seen any since 1994 and not for NOTHING. I used to see a lot of it as I worked one winter at the Junior Ski Program at Sky Tavern up Mt Rose near the area between Lake Tahoe and Reno, Nevada. I had to hurry down to the candy shop which was downstairs from the lunch room. They would be a stampede of kids wearing ski boots coming down the stairs to get candy. NOTHING but very loud. Since 1948 more than 100,000 kids have been taught to ski and snowboard by parents and volunteers through the Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program. Formerly part of the City of Reno, Sky Tavern is now an independent 501(c) 3 non-profit located on the Mt.Rose Highway, 30 minutes from Reno. Every winter the volunteer-based Junior Ski Program provides an outstanding experience for the participants and community.

Not as loud as the cannon they would shoot at the mountain to prevent avalanches. BOOM!!!

Really liked the 224 in the picture in The Villages Daily Sun on the front page of the 1/18/2019 Sports section about the VHS girl's basketball team and their loss 46-37. Would have been better if they had won against Umatilla. And not for NOTHING.

We have 224, 787 views as of 1/19/2019 8:42 AM EST. This is for the NOTHING thread.

We will not be in the 224 000- 224 999 range that much longer.

Well, it rarely snows in the Villages. I have only seen snowflakes maybe twice here in the last 13.5 years. And these melted soon after hitting the ground and not for NOTHING.

Railroad Uses Howitzer Cannon to Cause Avalanches | Railroad Alaska - YouTube

This is NOTHING like the relatively tiny cannon I saw near Slide Mountain for their avalanche control.

Would love to take a train ride through Alaska in the winter.

I don't think anyone ever hated snow more than I do. Our first thought was to buy a vacation home here and come down for the winter and the more my husband thought about it the more he decided there was really no good reason to keep our house up north. I was NOTHING but ecstatic. Any friends and family that we still have up there can come to Florida to visit. I have no desire to go back.

And Tal going to Alaska in the winter is my very worst nightmare. I think that is where bad Florida residents go when they die. :1rotfl:
