So about the water company saga where I told you they didn't call back -
Well apparently I gave them enough of an earful that nobody wanted to talk to me so they escalated the problem themselves without me even asking - lol. A guy in upper management called today and left a message for my husband that they were going to be looking into it further to see about giving us more of a refund. Sometimes NOTHING else works but being a PIA I guess.........my husband said as long as I'm not being one towards him and he benefits from it, it's fine with him. Mrs Nucky would have been NOTHING but proud of me - :1rotfl:. I mean we can't be :angel:s all the time, right Nucky? |

W, on the other hand, is a smart highly opinionated guy who was funny and spiteful and just the perfect mix of all things fun. A little direct at times but that was just from being a resident in an active place and doing a job where you had to eat the dog before the dog ate you. Probably would give you the shirt off his back. My kind of person. Other than those few and of course GE and a guy who has passed away called Zcaveman and that really nice lady Bonnie who passed in 2018 who often spoke about restaurants in a kinder but accurate manner. They are all missed big time but we are at the time of life where things can change in NOTHING but an N.Y. minute. Rip that guy apart from the water company, Abby, I like to try nice and direct first then if we gotta mix it up let's go. I'm sorry about others that I forgot to mention. tomwed, what a great guy he was and always kept it lively. Had a rough day. Just got back since 9 AM on a Computer Update on the car and asked for a Tire Rotation and the guy who did it stripped the threads on one of the hubs. I think they expected me to flip out. NOT, NOTHING from me, the guy made a mistake not an on purpose. Some people are kind and some just suck eggs. I'd rather try to be kind. I'm Pooped Out! |
K-Man I've got one joke in my tired NOTHING mind but better hold it till tomorrow so I don't end up on The Milk Carton.
BK, unbelievable. You missed your calling there Dr. Ruth! :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl: |
Certainly miss GE and ZCaveman was involved with many things on TOTV which took a lot of work like the NFL Survivor League which he set up on his own computer and would tabulate and his was one of the Calculators on FunTrivia which is a team of players on there were you have to play very nice or they kick you off immediately. They tolerate NOTHING on FunTrivia which is a very family friendly place.
Not sure where GE went. Maybe he found a new nurse to spend a lot of time with. Quote:

Nice summary of some decent folks that have been on here over the years, Tal and Nucky.
And I agree with you Nucky, always play nice first. I have put a lot of work into this water company issue for the past 2 years both in phone calls and in writing and have been treated pretty poorly by them several times - never once did I say an unkind work, just did what they told me to do. But this time they bothered my husband when he was in FLA helping my aunt and uncle with a resolution that was more like a slap in the face. That's when the  in me turned into the :icon_twisted: when I started with, "Did you even look at all the documentation I sent you before calling us with this ridiculous offer?!?" Sometimes my husband and I feel forced to play good cop, bad cop. He is usually a master at the good cop part so rarely does he have to unleash me, the bad cop - lol. It's a tough job but once in awhile somebody has to do it. :boxing2: On that note, I'm off to work while you guys hang out and do NOTHING. I'll let you figure out what day it is on your own, K - hopefully that will keep you out of trouble, but I doubt it. Just remember what day it is that you have to pick up Mrs K at the airport or you'll really be in trouble.......lol |
Good morning Sweet Nothings,
Abby you said "Sometimes my husband and I feel forced to play good cop, bad cop." That never worked with us since neither of us were able to pull off being the bad cop. I swore when we left Brooklyn that I would never, ever be a landlord again. We were terrible landlords -- "Can't pay your rent? Oh, than you must be hungry -- here, eat something -- oh, and since you're broke, here's $20 for your pocket." Ok, maybe a slight exaggeration, but not by much. I advise anyone who wants to make money in real estate to invest in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITS). No tenants, no overflowing toilets, no sob stories, no skipping town on the rent. LOL But do hope you prevail against the water company. Good documentation, for me, is key. Go get 'em tiger! |

Aw, FW, thank you so much for saying that. I do believe whole-heartedly in Karma, ... reap what you sow, etc. But that's not to say that there are not plenty of areas that nothing but need improvement. (I'm just not admitting to them). A wise person once said something like never talk bad about yourself since there are so many others willing to do so. |
