Yesterday I received a flyer from Holland America about cruises and give aways. (What I read into it was YOU’VE LIVED LING ENOUGH CRUISE WITH US)🤭
Maybe I’ll save it for a cruise 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

How about everyone that still received the same income before this donates it to a charity or those who lost their job. This includes those collecting social security. Maybe buy dinner for all the healthcare workers and first responders that had no opinion but to go to work and deal with people that were infected. Be thankful you are healthy and be giving.

This is a cute thread ... what to do with the extra money .... but it is phased out after a certain income .... so I guess my answer is "nothing" because I'm not getting a dime. Darn.

I'll save mine to help pay for the coming income tax increases.

We were supposed to be on the Zaandam right now (the one with people dying of C-19). Dodged that bullet.

Welcome back Gracie. My $1,200. will go into the parents account.

We won't be getting checks because we are still working, but I really like the ideas of donating to restaurant wait staff as my daughter is one, not here. Tipping 40% is reasonable, as is a fake birthday party where they all sing to the patron, and giving each one $50. I also admire people who band together and donate to the first responders or band together to purchase something for the first responders as needed. Churches need help outside the villages, and large initial donations will help overcome immediate cash flow crunch issues to survive longer.

Paying off credit cards for relatives who are stuck is the number one way to help them get by without increasing their future financial risk, rent, health insurance, are a close second.

Personally, posts about helping out others with compassion, human creativity helping advancement of the human race, overcoming obstacles, and making our lives safer and fun, are my favorite reads, and keep hope alive for a better tomorrow.

It's stimulus money................best used, not saved............go out and stimulate something or someone.

Remember though that the #1 primary main purpose of a stimulus check is to spend it - not give it away. Donating is great - and I'll be donating too for sure. But I plan on spreading it around to local stores, chains that employ local employees - in other words, not buying off Amazon or letting it sit in a bank account or investment account. I want to keep these stores in business. That's why I'm spending it locally. Giving $50 to a waitress is great but that means $50 less that you're spending at the restaurant itself.

I'll be tipping extra, absolutely. But I'm going to make sure the waitress's boss has enough to keep giving that waitress hours, so that she can continue to be employed. A one-time $50 tip can only go so far. A continued job with the usual 18-20% tip can take her much further.

We'll use it to help out local restaurants by ordering food to pick up and local businesses for anything we might need.

As fate would have it... I've had a crowned tooth that has had 'discomfort' for about 5 months now. Being a guy, well - you know.
Finally it got worse.

Went to my dentist and referred me for a root canal. Appt for the procedure next Tuesday.

Guess how much the endodontist charge is (after a small insur discount) $1200. Fate.

I'll just give it back to the government to pay my federal taxes because of a stupid mistake I made. We took out $30K from my wife's IRA as a temporary loan to close on our home in TV until we closed on our house sale in GA. I forgot to put it back in the IRA and did not notice it until I got the 1099. What's worse, is it was my wife's IRA.:ohdear:

I’ve found through a store manager a couple of single mothers who clean homes that could use the money . I’m also paying mine not to come to my home

I plan on helping my Son who was laid off. 1200$ barely covers his rent. He’s working from home but survived on commissions. Since no face to face contact that’s out the window. We are retired so I’m glad we can help.
