I'm going to save mine for my cremation.
Really, your going to go on a shopping spree when you get your money?!! Yup, the virus and social distancing will be over because we got a check from the government. This virus isnt going away anytime soon... and just pray it doesnt mutate and start all over again.
Sadly, that's why I'm going to NEED to save mine for my cremation.

Agree, but there are a. lot of younger people who are in need, will sit on it and counsel with our Church leaders to ID a needy family.

All, I apologize for my previous post. I realize this was just for fun. I'm just terrified. Please forgive me for my previous post and have fun with it.

New Shower Enclosure from Jettastone. The one area of our villa I hate more than any other is the cheap fiberglass walk-in shower stall. It's impossible to keep clean and it's ugly. It won't pay for the whole job, but it will get it going. I've read really good reviews and Jettastone seems to be the easiest way to go and probably easier maintenance than a tile shower. Something like this, but enclosed on 3 sides and just a shower rod, no glass.

Guess how much the endodontist charge is (after a small insur discount) $1200. Fate.

Just about everything is going to cost $1,200 for the next year or so until these businesses deplete you of your money..

The question is - if/when you get it, what do you plan on doing with the money?

I'll be getting the full $1200 based on my income.

$200 will go to pay this month's credit card bill, to give us a little breathing room. Huzzah!

$200 for new clothes. I need shorts, a bathing suit, a belt.

$200 for a few "better" take-out dinners, maybe from Bonefish or similar. Those kinds of places are a luxury for us.

$100 for new garden stuff. More potted plants, more pots to put them in, a new ratchet clipper since mine isn't ratcheting like it should anymore.

I -might- spring for a year of Netflix with $120. Jury's out on that, maybe I'll get Hulu instead. Or maybe both!

$150 on new skin care and cosmetics. That's a yearly luxury expense that used to be no big deal when I worked full time. Definitely need new eye cream, I'm almost out!

The rest will be for "extra" dining out, and will supplement my grocery money so I can splurge on the organics, which I prefer, but can't usually afford on a regular basis.

I plan to donate a good portion of my check to specific out of work or hard hit restaurant workers. They need all the help we can give them.

I would donate it to the Salvation Army

mastergolfer 03-29-2020 11:39 AM

save it for a rainy day

Ecuadog 03-29-2020 11:47 AM

As Tug McGraw said, "Ninety percent I’ll spend on good times, women and Irish whiskey. The other 10% I’ll probably waste."

Disclaimer: In no way is the "women" part to be directed toward anyone, but my wife. (I thought it might be wise to add this.)

toddao 03-29-2020 12:04 PM

I'd like to donate it to the workers in The Villages who help us every day at restaurants, shops, etc. who are now out of work. Anyone know if there's a fund available for that?
