It looks like a Sylvester to me. I feed mine Jobe spikes a few time a year. I have 2 of them and they are easy to maintain

Have one that's 20 years old. Never have fertilized it and it does just fine. Fronds that die drop off by themselves as do seed pods. Easy to pick up and put out for garbage day pickup. Never have seen a rat in my yard. Rats like bird feeders, they eat what the birds drop on the ground. I love my palms, next to no upkeep and look beautiful.

I had that problem in South FLA. You have to make sure to trim the foliage away from your house (tree rats jump) and trim the seed pods off. Tree rats love the seed pods

Yes it is a Sylvester Palm. The other ones are Canary Palms

If you are referring to the three pictures I posted as Canary Island date palms, I can assure you that they are Sylvester palms (Phoenix sylvestris) If grown properly, Sylvester palms can retain many fronds and they can hang down around the tree trunk and retain their beautiful silver green color. If you are referring to other palms and not the pictures I posted please excuse me. 😊

Phoenix Sylvestrus. Slow growing, plenty of seeds, love it once it reaches 15 feet or higher. We let branches fall off naturally. If you are a neat person you will have it trimmed. Fronds are needle sharp so be very careful when nearing the palm.

Beautiful trees

Thanks, I was told by Massey that I have rats in the attic. They claim they spread disease. I can’t be the only one, there are many homes with palms close to the house and they do climb and jump. Slippery suckers, ugh! I will ask for quotes.

I also lived in NYC, plenty of rats and roaches but not in my attic spreading disease. Thanks for your response!

It grows about a foot a year as a small bush. So if you want to mature look to begin with you need to buy or have one delivered to your house and are very expensive but they are one of people's favorites in looks.
