FYI, the CDC just admitted that everything they've been saying for 2 years about Covid was wrong and/or no longer applies. No doubt this will be ignored by many people who will behave like the Japanese soldiers who refused to surrender after the war was over.

Everything the CDC is now recommending was blasphemy punishable by public shaming, deplatforming and delicensing, all the way up to the day the CDC posted the new guidelines. Every COVID article and fact check ever written is now completely off-script, as are countless public statements made by public health officials.

CDC Backtracks on COVID Guidance as Damning Studies Mount

It’s very easy to find an article, study, opinion piece, etc…. that supports one’s predetermined perspective about any controversial issue. In my opinion the CDC did the best they could do, while trying to learn and react on the fly to a very serious and unique global pandemic. Sure, some of the things they did might have been done differently with the benefit of hindsight, but that can be said about a lot of things. They had a very difficult job, wayyyyyyyy more difficult than being a Monday morning quarterback.

So what did this paragraph tell you?

"The CDC insists that while COVID-19 infection continues to be a reality around the world, “high levels of vaccine- and infection-induced immunity and the availability of effective treatments and prevention tools have substantially reduced the risk for medically significant COVID-19 illness … and associated hospitalization and death.”"

The risks have evolved since hospitals were overflowing with critically ill people. The situation is far different today since close to 70% of the population are vaccinated and about 70% of the population is exhibiting natural antibodies resulting in significantly reduced risk of hospitalization and death.

Dr. Fauci did say, "your vaccinated, you are safe, you are un-vaccinated you are at risk". That, to me, is the opposite of the proverb I have lived my adult life by which is , Never say "never" and never say "all". That is what he did and his statement has come back to bite him in the ass. I did not see this interview and of course, I have never seen all the interviews these people in high places have conducted over the course of this pandemic.

I can see Dr. Fauci extremely FRUSTRATED in this interview that there are areas of the US that are far below the level of people vaccinated in other countries. I can see he is adamant about firing up the American people to do the right thing so we could stamp out this virus. With all his frustration, I believe he did the wrong thing by saying what he did.

I admit I was wrong. Dr. Fauci sent an incorrect message.

What do you mean by "patently"?

There is no way on earth I feel "fooled". This vaccine has saved countless lives. There is no denying that. The vaccines have been proven to offer protection from severe disease and death in people who had a good response from the vaccines.

Comparing polio to SARS-CoV-2 is comparing apples to oranges. You can’t catch polio by sitting next to someone on a bus. It’s spread via the fecal–oral route. So, if everyone washes their hands and gets a polio vaccine, it goes away. A vaccine cannot eradicate a highly contagious virus like SARS-CoV-2(or Flu). The only way to stop it is the same way the Spanish Flu and SARS-CoV-1 were stopped — by it mutating into a highly contagious benign version that makes one immune to the pernicious versions.

I didn't even read the article. Just looked a the source and that was it. My bad!!!!

I think NO Public health governmental group anywhere on this planet was up to the awful surprise of Covid 19. People were unrealistically demanding answers to questions that no one knew the answers to. It will take several years even now until all of the information is validated and we will still be learning things about this damned virus and hopefully it will not continue to evolve and kill the entire human race. So far we have had some lucky breaks or good planning (Whatever your mind set) in getting the vaccine that made the virus less deadly to the vulnerable older population. There is much to criticise and still much to applaud.

The CDC updated the guidance based on the current situation.

Previous guidance was based on the situation at the time provided.
