The Covid-19 shot was not painful or even detectable going in................ |

Where is this drive-thru location?

(which means I don't know and it doesn't matter since I wouldn't be able to be vaccinated if I happened to find it) |

I posted this post in another thread but wanted to post it here too.........
Just now (Feb 4 at 8:20pm), I received an email from Safe Restart confirming my appointment for my second shot at the 466 vaccination location. The confirmation appointment is for the same date and time that I had been given when I made the appointment for my first shot back on Jan. 13. The barcode is the same too. The Safe Restart (GMR) system is working the way I hoped it would. |
I just finished sitting at my computer for an hour and once again I never got the chance to "Book it". When it was all over and done, I looked at the number of vaccines left around the State. Marion, where I would like to be, was down to zero however, St. Johns still had 2200 left to allocate. I know I am expecting miracles, but is it too much to ask that somewhat with a brain could work out that Marion (The Villages) needs a lot more than the measly number allocated, and St. Johns and the other counties with vaccine left, needs a lot less allocated to them?

FL needs to redistribute the vaccine for FL. Palm Beach county has thousands, Lee, Brevard, Volusia too. What's with Marion and Citrus? Still waiting on GMR site since 1/12. You'd think with The Villages, Spruce Creek etc in this area we would be allocated a LOT
more vaccine. |

According to this Florida vaccination report Sumter County has vaccinated about 18,500 people.
18,500 puts Sumter County at 24th for number of vaccinations. According to this page Sumter is 34th by population and according to wikipedia it is 35th. 24th in vaccinations while only 34th or 35th in population: it seems like Sumter County is doing pretty well. |

Does anyone know if the GMR Vaccination Center on 466 is open 7 days a week?
|
I know that GMR was doing the people who had appointments prior to starting with the people who did not have appts yet.
Anyone know if they finished with the appt people and have started on the people registered but no appts yet? |

The police, fire service, hospitals and public transport all work 7 days a week. |

Hospitals, fire departments, and LEOs are receiving vaccine at work, where they have internal staff that do this for a living. No need for the sites to be open for those you listed. Also unless the vaccine is mandatory, for their job, refusing is an option, and yes more you think are refusing. Only vaccine chaser’s seem to be 65 and up, compared to those who are actually exposed everyday, and don’t have to guess. So not everyone thinks the vaccine is going to be their saving grace, yet continue to work with those who are positive |

Today when I went there are 12:00 for my shot there were very few cars in line, only about 3 or 4. They said they had only done 50 vaccinations so far today. Opening for 7 days a week wouldn't get them any more vaccine. |

This is different than the Pfizer vaccine which requires super cold condition not only for shipment but also in the field. It can only last for a couple of hours outside of super cold conditions. |
Don't Put Yourself Through All This
Just get in your car at 6:00 am, drive 24 miles to Groveland Drive up site, get your shot and come home. No appointment needed, Total time including going there and back about 3 1/2 hours. No getting up and logging in, no waiting on GMR codes, no pre-registration. Just go and get shot and get home. So simple. Take the worry out of your life. And they give you your appointment for the 2nd shot before you leave.

The number of vaccines reported per day in Sumter County has gone down since GMR came back to town last Thursday. Are they just not reporting their numbers? Or are they only doing 600 or so a day?
Has anyone who signed up for GMR but did not get an appointment before they shut down been offered an appointment? I’m wondering if I should give up on Sumter and hunt for vaccines in Lake county or Orlando. Is there any way to tell where you are on the list? |

Received 2nd GMR shot today at Woodridge site. In and out in 25 minutes, including 15 minute monitoring period after shot. Just like the first dose.
Yes, we had appointments for both doses, which were also easy to get. |

Info on GMR Vaccinations
At this time, scheduling codes have been provided to all registrations completed from when the site opened for registrations at 8:00pm on Sunday January 10, 2021 and prior to 4:11pm on January 11, 2021. If your confirmation was completed after this time on the confirmation time stamp, additional scheduling opportunities will be made available as additional vaccine supply becomes available.
We are currently scheduling thru 5:09pm. |
I received my second shot at the GMR-SafeRestart site on 466. We asked if they would be giving out any left over doses at the end of the day. The short answer was "NO, we NEVER have any doses left over."
My guess is there don't want a rush of people at the end of the day getting on line hoping there are left over vaccines. My suggestion for any of these vaccination sites is to "advertise" extra doses at the end of the day by having someone stand by the main road with a HUGE sign stating there are extra doses and ANYONE is welcome to a shot as long as supplies last. Even if it is only one shot, why throw it away? I asked the vaccine site representative how long the Moderna vaccine is good for once it is thawed and was told "the vaccine is food for four hours". Still waiting for a rescheduled appointment. Received my original appointment on Jan. 13th for Jan 24th and second shot was for Feb 21st. I wonder if I got lost in the system. Not sure what to do. Keep waiting or sign up elsewhere. Anyone else in limbo like me?

Still waiting (on wait list with no appointment).
Continue to pursue alternatives. Eventually the mad rush will subside and doses easier to get.... |
