Yes, it IS true that "life has risks". But, the point is to ask yourself, " does my state and country care as much about me as does another country, such as Germany, Finland, Australia, or South Korea?" Does my state care enough about me to mandate the wearing of masks? Are seatbelts and speed bumps helpful in saving lives. Should we have governments making laws for citizen health or should anarchy and "cowboy mentality" lead us?

CV has been out of control here since June. Incidentally, the reason for South Korea's success is that their citizens trust the information from their leaders who have SUPPLIED a CONSISTENT message about CV. And South Korea has endured and SUCCESSFULLY fought (with mask mandates) PRIOR similar Plagues. They had history on THEIR side. The US did NOT! In fact, we have a history of non-cooperation between states. Don't believe it? Today we have some states talking about seceding from the Union. Red and blue states had opposite attitudes toward CV. That, all told, is the reason for South Korea's CV information and contact tracing being superior to the GREAT US of A.

Maybe this is the reason South Korea fared so well.

Last month, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Korean Society of Infectious Diseases, Korean Society for Antimicrobial Therapy, Korean Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and a tuberculosis association recommended the use of Kaletra, an anti-HIV medication, in combination with HCQ, to treat Covid-19.

That is simply not true. It’s not fees collected it’s the ancillary revenue. It’s the online booking, clothes, equipment, food, booze etc

Be cautious but....

Be cautious of course, but also be SURE you verify a "click bait" story from South Korea about a high school student you don't even know (probably) and, did he live ? like hundreds here in The V's, perhaps he had it and is now immune ? How can YOU be absolutely SURE this student could ONLY have gotten this in an indoor "space".... at 20th feet.... use your own God given intelligence about trusting and verifying before posting. Some people will be intimidated, needlessly, over this type of "click bait" for those whose attention they can get on the internet. Not a "denier", but neither am I going to ignore my education, especially related to biology, microbes, viruses, etc. and just plain "common sense".... which is getting less "common" everyday ! ?

THAT is another fake news conspiracy theory talking. Please try HARD to avoid propaganda. It can melt your brain and lead the US to becoming a Dictatorship. I KNOW that you do NOT want that!

There are world lists that you can just Google that rank all countries on a whole matrix of qualities. I do know that most people would be wrong to believe that the US is higher than the UK on "upward mobility". WE are behind the UK at about #11. We are about 30th on many other qualities. I think that in some cases that we are ahead of Czechoslovakia, but still far back of the 1st world pack. But, thank you for your question. I hope this clears it up!

Sure, and I can find stats that will tell me anything I want to hear. Of course, I have a stake in my country and appreciate it. It's a shame that other folks refuse to acknowledge what a great thing and blessing they have here and keep looking over the fence to see what others have and are never satisfied with being the BEST.

I am sure most mean well and are not selfish. If we each were self responsible which I truly believe most villagers are, than we could hopefully keep ourselves and others safe. I notice again the rise in deaths in Sumter County in the past ten days is not as great as the rest of Florida and the world. I think we know why. Most of us are trying to do the right thing.

The vaccine is coming. I urge all to get both doses and to wait until our body responds and builds immunity and then we can go out into the world again.

I think that you, yourself are TRYING to do the right thing toward your neighbors. I did not start out preaching, but I found so much bad information and hardened opinions in the posts that it was like a vacuum that needed filling. I was not the best to do that, but it needed to be done. So, I HAVE gotten preachy - now whether that is effective or not - we will never know.

When you say, " I urge you to get a 2nd shot", are NOT you being preachy? Yet that is GOOD advice so everyone should accept it (even if it is obvious and that there is no purpose in getting the Pfizer vaccine without taking the 2nd dose). And remember that Pfizer is only the 1st vaccine (maybe NOT the most successful). I bought stock in JNJ for their vaccine, which is based on a different system than either the Pfizer or Moderno vaccine.

Incidentally, before everyone starts celebrating like it is 1999 - please Google Pulitizer Prize winner Lori Garrett's book "The Coming Pandemic", which was written about 4 years before the current CV and correctly predicted it. Her recent comments say that Pfizer and Moderno can NOT manufacture the numbers of vaccine that they currently say that they can ( due to a shortage of raw material because it is also used in testing for CV, so therefore scarce! I believe that the JNJ vaccine (coming before the FDA in January) does NOT have that problem? But. I welcome other learned opinions on that.

I keep hearing on here about tiny little countries handling the virus so well, compared to the U.S. In my opinion, we have handled it very well. If not for Warp Speed the whole world would be waiting years for a vaccine. And please remember that we have states larger than some of the countries that everyone seems to applaud.

Why would large populations and "might make right"?

I'd answer your question IF I knew what you were saying. Could you use your edit button and perhaps simplify your thought for us lower educated?

It is possible. I will keep an open mind and look for more reports on that. Thanks.

Come on, let not get carried away with this Warpspeed stuff saving the world.
Russia and China have made and used their own vaccine.
Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine was going before Warpspeed, and financed it themselves.
Many pharma companies around the world are bringing other vaccines out, and trialing them.

I don't think that anyone wishes to disparage you. I believe that folks are just getting a bit tired of all the continuing hysteria and panic and do not wish any more negative input. I doubt if the negative comments are meant to be personal. I know mine aren't.

Like I said in another post, I have been in neighbor's homes and they have been here and we have been remiss with the mask wearing. We have been out to dinner about once a week since the restaurants reopened. No indication with any of us being infected so far. I have done all the shopping in the past year, because it gives my spouse less exposure, if that makes any sense ...considering. So, when someone presents one vague incident of a theory that someone was in the same room for five minutes with an infected and caught the virus, it is without enough details to make a conclusion as to whether or not there might have been other associated factors involved.

Anyway, the vaccine will be available shortly and then all this will be moot.

I don't think that is an example of "out of context". More a possible example of a diversion from the implied or assumed direction of an issue. Either way, it seemed to make an impression, a BYTE MARK.
