The pickle ball lines would be around the corner, standing 6 feet apart, think about that. Or on top of each other which is a bad thing

Walked by sports pool today and lane ropes was installed.

Thank goodness there no electrical boxes close! Those are sex magnets.

If you have health issues, then it's a good idea to stay home but for those who are healthy it's time to get back to work and to normal routines...

If we don’t, it’s going to get real bad. Tyson foods and other meat plant already warning food shortages get low. Another month and there might be nothing on store shelves. In another month palm rats and squirrels may start to disappear. :shocked:

I agree with all of you but let’s open pools first. They are the safest.

I play pickleball and I play golf. I have done neither for 43 days now. Until the numbers come down, the virus is still making its way through our community. We all need to participate in the effort to make this thing go away. It is not enough to think of protecting yourself. You must also think of others. Isn't that what we teach our children and grandchildren?

I find your post both rude and self serving. Pickleball is not the only way to exercise, it is just your favorite way. You could walk or run as well. As far as refunding the amenities fees goes, that would lead to a lack of care for the amenities arenas. Pickleball courts would not be kept up along with many of the others. Calling people who don't want to catch the virus a germaphobe is atrocious. I doubt anyone wants to contract the virus. A germaphobe is afraid of all germs, not just the one about which we know very little. I guess if you are playing pickleball and increasing your exposure to the virus you will do the polite thing and not go into a grocery store a church or a restaurant which are opening soon. Or would you, is it all about you? Not allowing people out to things which they do just for recreation, IMHO, keps the whole population safer. Grow up and think of everyone. :boxing2::boxing2:

In pickleball and tennis(my game) you have to handle the ball after another player has touched it. In golf(also my game), a player never touches another player's ball, nor a rake, nor the pin, as the game is now played.

PB Distancing

Yes, you have to touch the ball but don't touch your face and after each game, wash (disinfect) your hands and the ball. It really could (and should) be a very safe game to play. Only put up 1/2 the nets and that alone would decrease the density on the courts.

I do see the problem with players standing in lines waiting to play and I'm not sure there is a good way to protect against that since too many folks just don't seem to understand. In most of the recreation activities if people would follow the rules they could be played very safely. The few are ruining the opportunities for the many.

Half nets are a good idea for gradual reintroduction. Here are a couple of other ideas: Wait outside the fences, with safe distancing. Use paddle racks to determine/maintain order of play.

My wife and I moved to The Villages on April 28, 2019! We love it here! We really do! Periodically I pick one of the topics on this site by chance and read 10 or 15 comments! I didn’t know when we moved here that I also would come across (apparently) THE SMARTEST PEOPLE in THE GOOD ‘Ol 🇺🇸 USA! ... (tongue back in cheek).

The government stepped in to protect us from injury and now they have stepped in to protect us from the virus.

Holy Christ, what a frightening comment.

Just a FYI :

Tennis = Racket

Pickleball = Paddle

It is confusing at times the tennis courts are next to the pickleball courts in some areas it is kind of cozy an errant tennis ball and the same with a pickleball ball.

We smile and well here is your ball and have a Tennis vs Pickleball attitude grrr.

My question to the Tennis Community when was the last time you had a State Wide Senior Tournament if ever in The Villages vs The Pickleball Community.

Atleast 50% of the Tennis Courts should be configured to Pickleball Courts. $$ Saved
