Sick puppy

We are here for just a few more days and this morning my 11 month old puppy has been sick. She is going from both ends -- but is really vomiting a yellow bile. Thank God the home we are staying at is all tile and we are keeping her sequestered in the breakfast area.

Does anyone have a suggestion of what I can give her. I haven't had a puppy for years and am completely in the dark. She has never been sick before and I am clueless!

Also, a good vet just in case we have to take her to one.

We took her to Doggie Doo Run yesterday and she has been outside at the house but I haven't seen her eat anything.

Thanks in advance.

I would call Buffalo Ridge animal hospital.

For sure call Buffalo Ridge. They are excellent.

And please don't delay going to the vet. A young dog can deteriorate quickly with diarrhea and vomiting.

Until you can get that Vet appt - our Vets always advised us to feed the dog scrambled egg and/or rice. Both foods are binding and provide protein the pup is losing with its ailments.

I called Buffalo Ridge and they didn't have any appointments but they took Lexi right in!

All of her vitals and the X-Ray were good. They think she had a strong allergic reaction to something. They gave her an injection to stop the vomiting and some gastro food. They also put the X-Ray on a CD for my vet at home.

Thanks everyone for your help. I really liked Buffalo Ridge.

Let us Know how she is.

Hope Lexie is bouncing back. Sounds to me like she did get into something that made her sick. We all worry about our little furry friends and know what you have gone through.

So glad you acted quickly and got her and yourself some relief.

Sable99, So sorry to hear your puppy was so sick. Hopefully Lexie will be back to normal soon. When they are sick at both ends, they can dehydrated so quickly. Hopefully, the vet has helped get things under control.

They are also the only vet open 24/7. They have boarding facilities if you need them. We've lived in TV for 4 years. I know there are other vets that people prefer, but I love Buffalo Ridge.

PS - I bet Lexi would love it here year round. Have you asked her yet?

I haven't asked her but I know she really liked the dog park yesterday! It was the first time she was off leash when she was outside!

I am making some progress with Mom and my aunt about moving to The Villages. It breaks my heart that I haven't spent one night in my TV home.

Lexi is doing a little better. She doesn't have a lot of energy but she kept some water and a few bites of food down. The vet thought she would be much better tomorrow.

Best wishes for her speedy recovery.

And Merry Christmas.
