Hot Tub Maintenance

How do you maintain your Hot Tub when you leave for the summer? Do you drain it? If you don’t, can someone recommend a service that will come by regularly to keep the chemicals balanced?
Thanks

Are you new to your tub. I don’t leave, but I do drain it for about four months. The water needs to be changed at least once a year anyway. Haven’t heard of a hot tub service.

If it was me, I'd probably drain mine. It needs to be drained and refilled a few times a year anyway. If you'd rather not, most pool maintenance companies provide spa service, but they may charge a little more because you aren't having a pool done, also. If you have any neighbors with a pool, check with their maintenance company since they'll be nearby once a week anyway.

I was concerned about seals and impellers drying out so I left mine filled with the daily filter cycle still active. With the cover closed and no people getting into the tub, the chlorine level dropped but the rest of the levels were pretty stable. A little chlorine when I returned and it was good to go.

We use Magic touch pool service for our hot tub, $15/week for service, I believe they can be reached at 352-457-9032. The owner is a former T&D tech, and the ONLY one that knew what they were doing.

Sounds expensive to maintain a hot tub.

Thought it was best to not drain.

Spa Kingdom would be my go to for maintenance.

Patriot charges $90 a month. Friend are still using them.

Spa kingdom in Fruitland Park has a cleaning service.

Draining is not recommended. We add extra chlorine and a little extra water, snap the top on and leave it alone for the summer. When we return we drain it and add fresh water and chemicals. Has been working well for us. No weekly service.

I built an inexpensive frame out of 1x3x8’ furring strips from Lowe’s for about $2.50 apiece. I built the frame so the joints of each piece just simply slides and locks together. I remove my insulated tub cover bring that inside the house for the summer. Then stretch a heavy duty silver (reflects the sun) tarp from Harbor Freight about $9 over the the frame and secure that with small bungee cords to hold the tarp taught. I built the frame so the tarp is pitched like a roof so rain water runs off and air can circulate underneath. Before setting up the frame I add a little chlorine and cycle the water then empty the tub itself leaving the water in the lines until I return in the fall. It works good so far, when I return I have just a little necessary cleaning and add water.

When I had a pool here, Spa Kingdom did mine. $40 a month. I don’t know about all their employees, but the guy who cleaned my pool was great. I was happy with their repairs, too. I assume they also do hot tubs.

Do not drain. The seals may dry out. Put some extra chemicals in it to keep it clean.

Coastal Del Mar, Bella Vita, Blondies, new fitness center. Seems like a lot of investment to me. Looking forward to more.
