I have Finally Seen Everything

Article in New York Daily News.

I just gave a donation to a ww2 organization in memory of my late uncle to perpetuate WWII veterans so they wouldn't be forgotten.

Now this:

Woman on unpaid leave after taking disrespectful photo next to soldier's grave during work trip - NY Daily News

Cantwaittoarrive 11-21-2012 02:34 PM

She's old enough to know better. The very people she is disrespecting fought and died so she would have the freedom to express herself so disrespectfully

Really??? Then what was her intention if not to upset and offend?

At least she's on unpaid leave. Hopefully she'll be fired. But the way things are today she'll probably sue her employer for violating her rights, the same rights those veterans fought and died to defend.

The first thing to do when even contemplating this type of photo OP is to engage brain....alas, the two did not.

Probaby a poor attempt to be funny. Some people just don't get it (meaning the lady in the photo).

YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID !

I agree that it was a very poor attempt by the lady in the photo to be funny. I believe that she exercised her right of free speech. Now I think her employer should exercise his right of free speech and fire her stupid butt!

Exactly

When I first saw this story, I was having trouble containing my anger at this 30 year old woman who acted like a 12 year old on hallowed ground. I was having trouble trying to put into words how I felt but I think you've captured it quite well. [And I'm probably being unfair to most 12 year olds.]

"ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE IS NO MATCH FOR NATURAL STUPIDITY"

Praise our public schools and colleges. This is what they are turning out and the sad thing is, we the people, are allowing them to, and paying them with our tax dollars.

I would leave it up to the folks she cares for at work. They will know better than us voyeurs what she is really like as a person. I try to judge slowly and with more than one photo as I am more concerned with peoples heart and intentions rather than what some others THINK. We have all done things in life we wish would had not done, but don't destroy a young lady without a hearing. It just might have been an attempt to be funny that backfired. If she tells me that was her intent and now apologizes and recognizes it as a dumb mistake then I say build a bridge and get over it. This young lady may very well be someone that donates her time to help veterans.

in the eyes of some she MAY be entitled to a benefit of the doubt. Spontaneous stupid is one thing.

Intentional stupid is quite another. Allowing that her intent was to be funny does not, in my opinion, give her any leeway for leniency or allowance.

The picture reflects an attitude that is inappropriate and offensive. The fact that she and her friend who took the picture were even additionally more stupid to put additional effort into the vile act by investing the time to show the world in a social media setting.....what she did....only confirms the attitude.

She is very lucky she was not seen by some who would be so offended to take her to task on the spot. And unfortunately in such a case the offender would then be played as the victim.

No sympathy here. She needs to be fired.

JUDGE NOT AND YE SHALL NOT BE JUDGED comes to mind as my Christian background teaches me and also allows me to forgive especially if someone apologizes and asks for it. I just can't see ruining someones life for a error in judgement.

Your 100% correct on that my friend and if that is who she turns out to be, I will be in front of the group asking for her head, as what she did was insensitive, coldhearted etc. etc.; however, I just have a silly hunch, that she made a stupid mistake and is less likely to commit one like that again, even more so than the average person that has never made a mistake like that.

Thank You for Catholic Schools. Agree this is what public schools are turning out.
