Cane Garden Country Club
First off I have to say having excellent dining companions help make a meal complete. I found the Meatloaf Sicilian to be excellent with superb mashed potatoes and gravy and garlic bread. Our waitress was very polite and friendly. I also liked the decor and atmosphere of the place. We most definately will dine there again.

One of the more consistent CC's here in The Villages. Always a good meal and fine people working there.

WE went to Cane Garden for the first time Wednesday night. It won't be the last time. I had the twin small filets and they were heavenly. Salad was good. Service was great. Only complaint was the Vegetable of the day Squash...not my favorite.
This CC definitely makes the "short list" of places we love to go~ |
Last night, we had the pork roast special. It was fantastic. Melted like butter in your mouth. I found out something new, if you don't like the veggie that comes with it, they gave us sauteed spinach which was delicious.
I had the petite twin filets a few weeks ago, and they were also wonderful. Never had a bad meal there, or bad service. |

Great for Fresh Roast Turkey dinner with all the fixings on Sundays and Lamb Shanks on Thursdays...
Great Happy Hour, too.
If you like lamb, Cane Garden's Thursday night Irish special includes a lamb shank that is out of this world. We like the restaurant and the service has always been perfect.

For all you liver lovers out there, Cane serves a very good liver and onions. Yum.
Had lunch there today, it was excellent. We both had the pineapple salad with chicken salad and cottage cheese - great food and excellent service. Will definitely be a regular eating place for us.
Another thumbs up for Cane Garden. It's our favorite club restaurant. Hubby always orders the twin filets. I mix it up, and it's always good. Never a bad meal and their wine, by the bottle, is the best deal in town.
Best onion rings in The Villages, very light batter with yummy dipping sauce. I always get an order for the table when I eat there, as I did yesterday. Everyone (party of 6 at lunch) enjoyed everything.

IMHO......Cane is the most consistently good Country Club in TV.
I have eaten there dozens of times and only once have I had a sub par meal. |
Pineapple Paradise
CG was our first meal in TV. Love to go there.
Best CC restaurant in the villages
Definitely our favorite casual dining. AND their dutch chocolate mints are to die for!!
Cane Garden will be serving breakfast off the menu very shortly. I can't wait to try it.
I had the best pork roast in my life there. Always a favorite
Yes it's very good!!
Love Cane Garden. Never had a bad meal or service for lunch or dinner. Went to have breakfast and the eggs were scrambled without mixing well and very greasy, crispy bacon was limp and there was a huge puddle of grease under the hashbrowns. I politely told my concerns to our server because I want them to do well and continue to serve breakfast! They are a convenient location for us.

I love Cane Garden and the folks that work there are so hard working and such patient folks. They have one of the top three burgers in TV and yummy fries and good slaw. They used to have chicken and brie...but I tried a new appetizer (for dinner) last week and it was yummy... nachos. The pork roast is WONDERFUL. They always look right into my eyes and smile too. |
good place

Looks like someone is trying to pump up their number of posts today.
 |
Update. Went back again for breakfast and the food was prepared much better! Of course it may been just a different chef/cook, but I like to think that our comments and suggestions had a part in it. LOL
5 of us there for breakfast today. All were quite pleased with their food. We're thrilled to finally have a breakfast place close to Pennecamp and the surrounding golf courses.
Ate breakfast at Cane last Sunday. Four of us ,food was tasty and well prepared and served.
The place is, however, somewhat shabby and worn. Booth seats pealing and split. Time for the" Landlord" to refurbish. Even McDonald's does this every few years. No, I did not tell the restaurant mngr. This is a property managers issue I think. Don't know who to call |
Most consistently good food of the country clubs. Great bartenders.
Only problem is they get so crowded because of the above. I go there anyway. |
We just found out they serve Breakfast. A superior breakfast. We go there regularly and find it to be very reliable and now breakfast will bring us around ore frequent. Closest to us, so it is going to be our standard, along with the hamburgers at Bonafay, which remain unequaled anywhere.
Katie bells also has a great happy hour from 330-530. Everything except bottles of wine are half price. Moscow mule just 3.50. 12.50 at havana
we ate there also last night after golf. it was excellent. one of the best cc for food. our service was good a bit slow but they were very busy and we totally understood. will be going there alot.
What happened to their delicious pizzas? Ate there a few nights ago and my pepperoni pizza was awful. I have had better frozen pizza. Disappointed.
Love the location of Cane Garden. Yesterday at noon we went for lunch at noon. Ordered Turkey dinner for two. After waiting a while The veg were cold and the turkey warm . We told our waitress and she apologize and took them away. She brought my husbands back and then mine 3-4 min later. As we began to eat my husband found a long black hair in his. He couldn't touch his after this. And she took it away. I gave him some of mine till the waitress returned she apologized and said she would get the manager. she then returned and said well we won't charge you...and gave him a desert! Not a good Sunday experience
I am a little apprehensive about eating there. A family member worked there earlier this year in the kitchen. He would tell me they were not too worried about cleanliness or food that was dropped on the floor. At the time he left the assistant to the chef had pretty much taken the kitchen over.

Cane Garden Restaurant going downhill?
Up until the past 6 weeks the best country club restaurant value and quality of food was Cane Garden. Does anyone else notice a downward spiral? For breakfast the quantities are smaller, no grits but instead apple fritters, overcooked eggs, smaller omelets, etc. Several of us order "Rickys" from the breakfast menu on Tues. 11/8 and there were no strawberries as promised. Supposedly none were delivered that day. Our question is why have it on the menu--at least be honest up front. Apparently there is a new kitchen staff at Cane and it is not as good as before. Pizzas, Chicken Ambrosia Wrap, etc. not that good anymore.
