Ranking the candidates based on first debate
Kasich
Rubio Christie Bush Huckabee Cruz Walker Carson Paul Fiorina Graham Santorum The rest except for.... Trump |
I have been talking about Carly Fiorina for sometime now on these pages and she delivered yesterday. I like her even more
I also liked Rubio, Huckabee, and Carson all of whom should get a boost from this debate I believe Trump hurt himself, Bush hurt himself ,Paul hurt himself. as to the rest of the candidates I didn't change my position one way or another. Personal Best Regards: |
Carly did absolutely nothing! Paul, Huckabee, Walker, and Rubio were back seat riders in the clown car. Christy and Bush were in the front seat of the clown car. The clown car was purposely aimed at Donnie Trump. He sidestepped the clown car and it crashed.
Trump wins again - the rest of the GOP candidates look like clown goo. |
Donald Trump got 24 million viewers to last night's debate. The first debate in 2011 got four million viewers. Without Trump on the stage last night, this would have been a real snore-fest.
|
I liked Carly also. Cruz, rubio, Huckabee and I still like Trump. They played dirty by setting him up but I like the fact he is not a politician and although not polished like the rest he is still a successful man and would surround himself with the right people carson is brilliant, but meek which we don't need. We have a wonderful line up and the dems can't find one good candidate. Great debate. Megan Kelly made me sick trying to bring up the war on women. Maybe she should move over to CNBC.
|
I though that Marco Rubio looked and sounded the best of all of them. Kasich also came off pretty well.
Trump didn't hurt himself so in that way, he won. He was in the lead and I don't think that the size of the lead will change because of last night's debate. There are really only two or three that I can see actually becoming the nominee. I really don't see Trump going the distance. People are either going to love him or hate him and I don't think that a presidential candidate can afford alienate people the way Trump does. It's really a very interesting primary because if you take Trump out of the picture, there's not real clear frontrunner. Bush is leading Walker by a slight margin, but if Trump eventually drops out, I don't think that his people are going to go for Bush. I like Rubio's chances. |
Trump is in this thing only to raise his personal profile and brand and to feed his massive ego. There is simply no way he would put his assets in a blind trust and step aside from running his companies, to take the presidency, assuming that the party was so dysfunctional as to nominate him, and the country so dysfunctional as to elect him. He is an interesting distraction at this point.
|
Before the debate I was hoping for a Rubio/Fiorina ticket. After last night I am behind Carly as the nominee 100%. She has got what it takes and maybe, just maybe those that simply want to vote for a woman might be impressed by her rather than that other one who has accomplished not much of anything in her life. I thought Rubio did really well as well as Christy, but I don't believe Christy is electable. Interesting cast of nominees - like Rubio said "we are blessed to have so many, when the Democrats can't even find one decent one".

I was favoring Kasich until last night's junior varsity debate(?). Now, I am hoping to see more Fiorina. Trump is a wild card, or Joker in this case and I don't take him seriously. I think he is more of a stage prop. We have 17 possibles right now and it wouldn't hurt me if any one of about 10-12 of them got the nomination.
|
Trump warned them not to dismiss him but if they throw him out he said he would go 3rd party. He's been consistent in his statements I am still for trump. Rand Paul lost. Cruz great and Carly could beat Hillary hands down

How does one get this emotionally screwed up ? |
Trump should really wipe that sour look off his face. He looks exactly like Benito Mussolini.(lol)
Most everyone is stating the Kasich did really well, Trump held his own, and Bush didn't screw up. |
That clown car post was hilarious. It was good enough to be on the opening monologue of Conan.
Whoever posted this has single handly raised the average IQ of posters on this forum. How does one get this amazing writing skill ? :bigbow: |
Trump got 24 million viewers for the debate? 20 million tuned in to watch a train wreck.
|
If Carly Fiorina catapults to the top ten, someone will be booted out. Could be Kasich or Paul. If this happens it will be fun to watch Fiorina take on Donald Trump in the next debate.
|
Fiorina and Rubio led the two discussions. The second one may have had a semblance of a debate a couple of times, but the candidates were too well behaved. Should have put a couple of liberals in there and then it would have looked like an episode of the walking dead, with blood and gore everywhere. Oh yeah!

I will add that it is like the exhibition season in football. Long way to go and many more hurdles to over come. No chance or time to extensively discuss much of anything and other than a few exchanges, not much dialogue between the candidates. BUT NO TIME on this one either. As it progresses it will become more definitive and detailed, but I agree that based on confidence and supposed grasp of the issues, Rubio and Fiorina stood up. Hoping further debates will meet this standard for sure. I am not sure why any of the liberals are making fun. It seems the liberal pundits and the other networks had praise... "With its big debate night in the can, the good news for Fox is that its usual enemies on the left hate it quite a bit less, at least for the moment. At CNN, Brian Stelter provided a roundup of the “almost unanimously positive reviews” Fox’s “tough debate questions” generated. Included were a former Obama Administration official, a liberal magazine editor, a public radio host and BuzzFeed’s editor-in-chief. All had nothing but praise:" https://s3.amazonaws.com/medeq/files...Fox-debate.jpg There was criticism from some on the right which is to be expected. With that many folks and their followers, it is liking grading umpires in baseball. It all depended on what team you were on. Most of the complaints were very specific in who got passed over, etc. Great debate night and look forward to more. |
A big thank you to FOX for creating a way for all 17 candidates to be heard.
As opposed to the main stream networks that did not even mention the other 7.....for obvious Fiorina reasons!! |

When I was in Panama, Dell set up their support at the old military air base. I think the question is, can she do the job. After eight years of Obama, I think we can pretty much figure that question to be a moot point. Anyone can do the job. Hopefully, the next president will have some leadership skills. |

"Democrats privately know that free trade and cheap manufacturing abroad result in cheap consumer goods at places like Walmart and Home Depot, which expands the purchasing power of the strapped American consumer. Republicans stress that in the open arena of trade, the more competition, the more pressure on American firms to stay lean and turn out better products at lower costs. One reason why a Hewlett-Packard, or an Apple or a Microsoft, is so successful is that the skilled engineering, administration, and financing of such global high-profit operations draw on unique American talent and labor, while the often less-skilled fabrication of the resulting consumer goods is in part outsourced to places where labor regulations, wages, and attitudes tend to be very non-American. Would we prefer it the other way around — $100,000-a-year Chinese engineers traveling to San Jose or Gilroy to teach our unskilled workers how to assemble their hot-selling, freshly designed electronic gadgets at the rate of $1 an hour? Carly Fiorina: Robber Baron, Traitor I am sure that the party of NAFTA, etc understands but it does not make for good tweets the day after she looked so good I suspect you are the same poster who posted a supposed quote thrashing at Carly Florina. I really hope you will obey the rules of this forum and tell us where that came from. Other than thinking it is important to follow rules, I am curious the source of all of this. Carly Fiorina must have really looked good to have this kind of menial attempt at thrashing her. Tell us...is this coming from the Clinton campaign....oh wait, they were posting selfies last night the the Kardashians......good choice I suppose...hanging with the middle class !!! |

But, a fool is supposed to make you laugh, right ? |

Anyway, I would vote hands down for Fiorina as the stand-out in the first debate, and if I had to pick just one in the second it would be Rubio. When he's focused and on point he can really deliver a message. For a young guy, he comes across very wise and confident. His one liner about the Dems not even being able to come up with one candidate was great.......and apparently oh so true!! |

For the Most part the posts in this thread are worthLess, on both sides. Not to lecture you, but responding to someone who is trying to get under your skin is totally counterproductive. The reason they post in the first place is to get under your skin, and by reacting you feed them exactly what they want and throw gasoline on the fire. If you ignore them they will quickly lose interest. I started this thread with the hope that others would post their rankings but the replies have, for the most part, been disappointing and pathetic.

If you do not get back in their face if you do not challenge them, name them, then they simply have fun with each other. For the most part they do not troll as individuals and they feed off each other. I have tried that ignoring them and they just get worse and try to top each other. For them this is their video game...trolling. You started a good thread and I share you disappointment in having a good conversation terminated by wise guys and I am sure that other disagree with me and think ignore is good. IGNORE worked when you knew who was posting.....they need to be called out is my opinion. |
The single biggest asset to the antagonizers here is the fact they are anonymously hidden as "guest".
In this format they can attack and a single loose cannon can utilize multiple posts to falsely reresent a dialogue that would otherwise be easily detected, hence giving the appearance of a quarum or support on a given issue. And we all know their bravado is directly linked to being hidden behind the keyboard. |

Nope, the post you quoted was mine. I don't have quotes to trash her, I was a loyal hp customer. Then they merged with compaq and instead to compaq rising to hp standards hp sunk to producing products that were garbage. About the same time hp layed off something like 30,000 employees and their stock dived. If I called for tech support I was forced to speak to someone in India who had a poor command of the English language. If my memory serves me the day she took her golden parachute the employees celebrated. I don't think she's a good pick for restoring jobs. On a more personal note, imo she reminds me of a bored Greenwich housewife. |
