What is the "invasive species" in the Hudson Morse Parr Preserve?
That may cost residents of of CDD1 a lot of money to remove? Is it coyotes?
This news just broke on the online news that we cannot mention. It isn't clear WHAT the invasive species is. I don't think it is teenagers. They aren't allowed here. Where is CDD!? |

Read the source. I read it one way and I think animal and the other way I think plant. |
A few weeks ago there was a thread about someone spotting Bigfoot.

"Little Bog of Horrors"
I wonder if it is hydrilla. Sounds like the name of a water monster in a movie, but hydrilla is for real. Bad stuff.
Here is a link to some information on invasive species in Florida. At the bottom of the page, you will see a list of the top 10. If you want to, you probably can look them up by name and maybe even see some scary pictures. Hydrilla is #1..... And after you gather all that info, you can be a veritable font/fount (I never know which one it is when spelled) of information at your next driveway party....or everybody will just think you are Cliff Clavin. Anyway, if you really want to know what the invasive species might be, this link will get you started: Invasive Plant Management Marian Boomer |

Look at lake lockloosa, sampson lake and crescent lake and you will see how bad the plant life can affect the health of the lake.

What's a $100k divided 120k ways? I wish there was an easy way to collect it.

Calling all English teachers
"The removal of invasive species that have moved into the wetlands would be labor intensive..."
Partial quote from source that shall not be named. Question; is it more than one species? Is invasive species singular or plural in this context? |
Didn't the CDDs north of 466 win a $40 million dollar lawsuit against Morse and The Villages and if so wouldn't this be a good use of the monies?

How does CDD1 or any CDD have ownership or control over the Hudson Parr Preservation Reserve?

Obviously the invasive species has been identified. With a price tag of 100k to remove whatever it is, I would hope that information becomes public very soon.

Why the secrecy?
If the people in charge want to keep it quiet don't release any information. Otherwise they know how everything plays out down here. |

I live in District #1. The way I see it my amenity fees are used to fund the amenities that I have access to. The Hudson Morse Parr Preserve is not one of them. It has 726 feet on Morse Blvd giving me a fraction of a minute view at 30 mph IF I take my eyes off the road, that's it. The remainder of the property is behind the homes surrounding the preserve. If the preserve was restored to a pond it would enhance the view of the bordering properties and enhance the bordering properties property values and I would get nothing for my “MORE” than $100 grand.
The 100 plus white birds that spend every night sleeping on top of the “invasive species” will have to move on. What about the wild life residents at the base of the “invasive species”? Snakes, and four legged wildlife, will they migrate to the bordering properties? It is my opinion that if the bordering property owners want it changed, they should petition to do so and pay with a special assessment. Reason, because they are the only ones to benefit from the “MORE” than $100 grand investment. |
