Urgent Care Office @ LSL
Last Friday just before 4PM I found myself having to go to this facility due to a mangled thumb (long story, will tell later).
The staff was very efficient, handled the paperwork and co-pay quickly, was seen by a tech and a physician within 15 minutes, and out the door, bandaged, one tenanus shot later and with a prescription for antibiotics (told FREE @ SweetBay & Publix, which was true!), and all questions answered with dignity and respect, gone by about 4:30PM. My experience was probably best effected by timing (no one in waiting area when I showed up). Nevertheless, the attitude of all who were there, and their demonstrated professionalism, made it the best "emergency room" minor care experience I've had. Good service deserves praise - they got it! |
Great

Very sorry to hear of your injury but thanks for posting this encouraging message. I will be a resident within 5 weeks and living near LSL; would you mind replying and letting me know exactly where this office is located? Really hope the injury heals well and quickly. |
Sorry..
Steve,
Sorry to hear of your accident, feel better! :agree: I too went there when I though I broke my ankle..They were professional, efficient, and I did not have to wait..The staff and Doc were very pleasant too..Has my vote! |

Steve, hope thumpkin is feeling much better. Have you shared the experience yet or did I miss that? I'm thinking powertool, hope I'm wrong and also happy you can still type!
|
How were the prices compared to a doctors office or emergency room?

I don't know for sure that this is the same place that SteveZ visited, but I had necessity to visit the LRUC (Lake Regional Urgent Care) facility at 910 Old Camp Rd., Suite 114 in the Sumter Landing vicinity. The office is in the "professional offices" area located behind the Sweetbay grocery store. I actually had to visit them twice, to treat a case of bronchitis. (I needed a stronger antibiotic than first prescribed.) I found the staff and treatment to be good. I had a short wait, nothing to complain about. I would return to them any time a need arises and would recommend them. I can't comment on the costs since my insurance covered everything.

What are there hours? Are they open 24X7? Would be great if they were.
|
No...
NOTHING is open 24 hours in TV! I agree! It would be great if the Urgent Care facilities were open 24 hours. It just makes sense.
|
Hospital emergency room is open 24X7. So what are the hours? 8 to 5, 8 to 8, 6 AM to midnight? The place is useless to any of us unless we know by going there we can get in. Urgent care means you need it now. And if it's 6:25 AM and I don't know, I will go directly to the hospital.

Thank you Halle.

Thanks
Thanks for this feedback as if we need a good Urgent Care facility it is good to know where to go. We tried one (not this one) and it was terrible. We would never go back.
We heard about the LSL urgent care from our neighbor who really liked the care and we will go there if we ever need that kind of service again. Again, thanks.. |
Another positive vote for the urgent care center at LSL. Had recent occasion to use it - good care, modern technology, professional staff.
|
I also had a positive experience. HOWEVER, I did note that they seem to have a practice of not accepting patients (they lock the door) 30 minutes before the time they post as the closing time. It did not affect me but did affect 3 patients who arrived after me.

Lake Regional Urgent Care at Sumter Landing
My wife and I have both tried 3-4 internal med/family practices around The Villages. We have not found anyone as knowing and caring as the urgent care. Dr. Domenick and Dr. Proud(husband and wife) and the other M.D.'s there are efficient and know what they are doing. My wife was diagnosed with a weird autoimmune disease, and the people at Shands said we were really lucky our M.D.(Dr. Domenick) had sent us up there quickly. With uneven results at the other practices we tried, we now use Lake Urgent Care exclusively as our primary care Physicians!! As a retired DDS, I have utmost confidence in LRUC!!

Urgent Care LSL
My wife had an unfortunate experience at an Urgent Care facility and based on the comments in TOTV she decided to go to the Urgent Care at Lake Sumter. We cannot say enough good things about them. Their care, their caring and all the other stuff that goes with medical treatment could not have been better. From the moment you walk in the building you are treated kindly and the Dr's could not be better. To say we strongly recommend them would be an understatement..

Glad things turned out so well Steve. I had a similar experience with the LRUC in LSL last Summer after I messed up my rotator cuff. I wonder what our experience would have been if HR 3200 Healthcare Reform Act had been enacted into law.
---Let's see, you are a senior so here's your pain pill and here are the addresses for your local recycling centers who will handle your case under the very successful Cash for Clunkers Program. Just kidding... please don't send this to the fishy email coordinator in DC |
