New Party of NO.
The Democrats will have the opportunity now to be the party of "no" to obstruct the REGRESSIVES in their agenda - and in Trump's nominations for Cabinet and Judiciary posts.
Karma is a two edged sword, Regressives! You did it for a long time, now prepare to get bit in the butt! |

However, you are correct that the appointee hearings will make great tv. I am betting the Dems finds way to bring Flynn into the conversation even though not required. He and Bannon are scary dudes to have the ear of a President. |

Democrats better think twice before getting too spiteful. The Republicans have two years, at least of total majority. Like Obie had, only he squandered his chance to do some good. The Republicans had the country on their side when they were the party of "NO." That's why they got a historic majority during the midterm election. All the Dems have going for them is spite, not consensus. On the other hand, perhaps they should not heed the warning and go full steam ahead with their radical and petulant tantrum. It will just destroy their party, making conservatives stronger.

Progressives Reaction To This Election Is Scary
It seems all progressives can do is hurl vitriol, call for continued disruption and passing hints of assassination with their tweets and facebook entries.
People such as Keith Olbermann and Hollywood celebrities have the spotlight and the ability to broadly spread lies rumors fear mongering about a president. Olbermann has told his audience never refer to Trump as president. We get from Obama and Hillary the lie that Russian hacks on the DNC was the reason that progressives lost this election. These are the same people who told the families and the rest of America that 4 people were murdered in Benghazi because of an amateur video We get the uber liberal New York attorneys general directing major resources to go after the Trump Charitable Foundation which Trump agreed to take down because of demands that it creates a conflict of interest now that he is president-elect. However this same NY attorneys general has ignored the Clinton Charitable Foundation for 10 years despite serious allegation of a $28 million contribution from Morocco can you spell corruption. Can you spell hypocrisy Practically all major assassination were committed by left wing perpetrators Abrahm Lincoln assassin was a Democrat. William Mc Kinley assassin was an anarco socialist. John F. Kennedy assassin a socialist/communist. Robert Kennedy assassin a Palestinian leftist. Martin Luther King life long Democrat. Even George Wallace's assassin was a Democrat. The attempted assassin of Gerald Ford Lynette Squeaky Fromme a liberal nut case (Citation for all of the forging is well established facts and a part of American History. So, please no deflection from factual content to some suppose claims of plagiarism or challenging fact The liberal agenda of hate disruption violence is going to send this nation into chaos. It is being spearheaded by well positioned people and the progressive electorate are being used as their useful idiots in this very dangerous game Adults would look inward admit their mistakes, regroup and move forward to improving for the benefit of this nation. Adults would lose with dignity and grace. Adults would shake hands admit it was well played and come together in unity for the benefit of this nation However you can see a microcosm of the progressives continuing adolescent response on these pages, one that I might add is getting old and tiresome Personal Best Regards: |

The emails proved the election was rigged. Bernie should have been the candidate.
Add to that, some would call the media slant, the lobby big business money rigging. And of course the fact that Barry actually encourages illegals to vote, in a system where anyone can vote multiple times..... Yes it's a very rigged system, and Trump won despite it ALL BEING Rigged against him, which really tells any idiot what a true landslide it was. Obama Encourages Illegals to Vote - YouTube You can try to legitimize what he said, but he clearly encouraged illegals to vote. You can make this stuff up. And please keep repeating "but Hillary won the popular vote", it's funny to hear it repeated 60 million times. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920AZ using Tapatalk |

Seniors better hope that democrats are the party of no. They are the only thing standing between republicans and ending Medicare, privatizing social security and the VA, and repealing Obamacare. Even with democrats voting no, republicans will probably still be able to get rid of all these programs through reconciliation. |

The people have spoken. Thanks to OBAMA'S SOCIALIST PROGRESSIVE VIEWS, the Democrats have not only lost the presidency but both houses of congress. re: The Republicans having done it to OBAMA It is interesting, AND PERHAPS NEW NEWS TO YOU, for his first two years the democrats like the republicans, controlled not only the presidency but both houses of congress. OUR GOVERNMENT is supposed to be oppositional. TRUMP claims to be a deal maker. Trump has not even yet taken office and he has NEGOTIATED a deal with CARRIER-saving AMERICAN JOBS and with BOEING-saving AMERICAN TAXPAYER MONEY. oBAMA and you seem to feel that everything that is no good is the fault of the REPUBLICANS. Think and realize- when Obama won the election there were no violent protests YOU CANNOT CLAIM THAT FOR THE LEFT. Trump is about to be sworn in and THE LEFT IS ORGANIZING PROTESTS. The CONSERVATIVES out of RESPECT for our COUNTRY and our GOVERNMENT did not STOOP TO THIS, TO YOUR LEVEL. BUSH as his first action as PRESIDENT was to invite the democratic leader-KENNEDY-to a meeting to discuss COMMON GOALS. They agreed that we need to improve education. The result was a BIPARTISAN BILL that created no child left behind. BUSH due to chivalry and RESPECT FOR OUR COUNTRY stepped down from office AS HE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO, with grace. OBAMA AND YOU-do not like the choice AMERICAN VOTERS have made and so you will whine and try to block PROGRESS. Obama-who surely you voted for, will leave behind problems that even TRUMP cannot resolve. Obama has fanned sparks of racism into forest firers. Obama has made hard work and SUCCESS somehow and evil concept. Obama has TRIED to replace the work ethic THAT MADE AMERICA GREAT with the you o meeeeee, gimmmeeeeeee view. FOR WHAT YOU THINK YOU WANT-I SUGGEST YOU LEARN ABOUT EAST VS WEST GERMANY AS WELL AS THE ECONOMIC FAILURE IN GREECE. |
obama was worse. He just had Soros backing him,the big money machine. Give Trump a chance to prove America was wrong. obama proved himself wrong to America now we have a real mess. Maybe Trump can fix it.

We are all aware that OBAMA added TEN TRILLION DOLLARS TO THE NATIONAL DEBT. Many do not realize that as we discuss TEN TRILLION DOLLARS we do not COMPREHEND what a TRILLION DOLLARS-LET ALONE TEN TRILLION DOLLARS IS. Many will be shocked to discover that SOCIAL SECURITY holds 42% of that National Debt. Our government, OBAMA, spent YOUR MONEY and they did it without any repayment plan or INTEREST to be paid on this LOAN. Will we be paid back? "For most Baby Boomers, whether to expect any incoming changes to Medicare of course remains a great concern. Trump’s transition website pledges to “Modernize Medicare, so that it will be ready for the challenges with the coming retirement of the Baby Boom generation – and beyond.” But other than that, details are yet to be heard." What a Trump Administration Means for Your Retirement | Fox Business "If House Speaker Paul Ryan has his way, the 115th Congress won’t just repeal Obamacare, it will dramatically reform Medicare, turning the program into a form of private insurance. Ryan has long supported the controversial idea and, immediately after the election, he suggested that any Obamacare reform should include Medicare reform. Another key player, House Budget Chairman Tom Price, said Medicare reform was a top priority for the unified Republican government. President-elect Donald Trump has yet to commit to further privatization of Medicare—which could cause a tidal wave of unease among senior citizens—and a Trump spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment. At a minimum, though, Ryan’s Medicare plans are a topic of negotiation between the speaker and the president-elect." Can Paul Ryan actually privatize Medicare? "WASHINGTON — Donald J. Trump once declared that campaigning for “substantial” changes to Medicare would be a political death wish. But with Election Day behind them, emboldened House Republicans say they will move forward on a years-old effort to shift Medicare away from its open-ended commitment to pay for medical services and toward a fixed government contribution for each beneficiary. The idea rarely came up during Mr. Trump’s march toward the White House, but a battle over the future of Medicare could roil Washington during his first year in office, whether he wants it or not." https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...eply&p=1338490 |

Gotta admit....you supposed "conservatives" are so frustrating.
I am a staunch conservative and you people put me in the position of defending the liberal posters on here with your stupid and inane comments. PLEASE read up on what is happening in the world, not your world, but the world You folks simply ignore facts, and neve even mention the Trump appoint of Tom Price to Secy of HHS. This is a signal and makes this a worthy conversation. "In picking Representative Tom Price, President-elect Donald Trump has chosen as his secretary of health and human services a man intent on systematically weakening, if not demolishing, the nation’s health care safety net. Mr. Price, a Republican from Georgia, is a fierce opponent of the Affordable Care Act, the 2010 health reform law, and beyond that, supports plans to slash Medicare and Medicaid, " http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/30/op...tary.html?_r=0 "President-elect Donald Trump's selection of Rep. Tom Price to head the Department of Health and Human Services signals that the new administration is all-in on both efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and restructure Medicare and Medicaid. Price, a Georgia Republican who currently chairs the House Budget Committee, was among the first to suggest that not just the ACA but also Medicare are on the near-term agenda for newly empowered Republicans. Privatizing the Medicare program for seniors and disabled people and turning the Medicaid program for the poor back to the states are long-time goals for Republicans in Congress and the White House." Access Denied You embarass any conservatives on here with your manifestation of your lack of knowledge and your incessant need to simply allow the world to go by you while you diddle your thumbs. Wake up |
It is simply embarassing to watch you folks go right past so much news and simply to continue on with ramblings.
Do you never get embarassed ? Is reading too much to ask before you pollute this forum with your condescending attitude and remarks ? You make the comparison of Trump followers made in the campaign seem real and much too close. Why is it so difficult to discuss differences of opinion based on what is ACTUALLY HAPPENING instead of your dream world. ? I would love to support the conservative movement on this forum, but you folks make it difficult by not even being conversant on the governing of the nation. If all you want to do is simply trash Obama and Clinton, that is not political discussion....that is petty, childish, and being totally unaware. Those are attributes that you said during the campaign belonged to the left, but which you seem to embrace and eschew on this forum. The left is making you look foolish. Yes, Trump won but on this forum, you guys look like losers. I really want to defend the conservative agenda but with allies like you, I just want to......well, lets say my stomach is a bit upset. You actually drive real conservatives away. |
Ryan has repeated a number of times going back to the 2012 election period that any changes made to medicare would not affect people who were 55 or older.
Anyone believing or promoting fear that any politician Democrat or Republican would be as foolish to pull medicare of the shelf immediately is either naive', a non-thinker or a liar. Look at the history of this nation any changes to our mode of transportation, etc evolved. If the Republicans are successful in producing a bill that will alter the financing, etc of medicare it will be an evolutionary process affecting later generations of Americans and not grandpa and grandma now or in the near future. Trump's modus operandi is very cleverly disguised and plays to the emotional reactionaries on the left. And they bite every time. Personally I do not like Trump's approach but it gets results. Trump has them so up in arms that liberals are purchasing fire arms at a record breaking level. But then the left has spent some 40 years trying to breed out alpha males in their ranks and replacing them with metrosexuals. Personal Best Regards: |

THERE IS, no matter what you proclaim a movement to privatize Medicaire and Medicaid. It is in the news if you bother to look beyond whatever koolaide Trump/Jim Jones is offering. Your confidence in Trump and his total silence on this issue is becoming the norm....do not discuss the issues. Will it affect those already in the program ? I think not, but trust me.....it will be discussed and you are simply foolish with the appointment of Price to not see the handwriting on the wall. You always feel is smarter than everyone, yet thus far and he has not taken office yet, the only folks that have been hoodwinked by him are his followers. You are acting EXACTLY AS THE DEMOCRATS did in 2008. We wil handle this without any input from the other side and that got us OBAMA CARE and 8 years of resentment. Is that what you are looking for. Did not Trump also say he wanted to bring all of us together ? This is the way, to dismiss everything and simply say, even though not even close to true, how Trump is so smart ? Listen, he is filling the swamp, empowering the money, eschewing the voters (no press conference), continues to lie on twitter (although thought that might change). I am willing to support some of his programs but you people on here better wake up...the election is over....now it is governing and you are sounding, oh so much like the Democrats in 2008, while you SAID you wanted the high road, you continue to act as children. HOW SMART was it of Trump to take credit for the nations holiday sales....when they are down from last year Only the Jim Jones followers buy into this stuff...why does someone as smart as you seem to be buy into this Your hate for the left is blinding you. |

Parts of the medicare replacement bill (the voucher plan) are leaking out on-line. The full benefit retirement age is being raised from 65 to 70. All those in their early 60's who are counting the days until they turn 65 can now add another five years to their plans. |

Please stop confusing any "conversation" with facts. Would it not be great if someday a real conversation on this issue could take place. "His plan, called A Better Way, would slowly raise the age of eligibility for Medicare and cap federal spending for the program, increasing subsidies for low-income seniors but raising out-of-pocket costs for higher-income retirees. It would make Medicare Advantage managed care plans more attractive. And, in a significant omission, it barely acknowledges the importance of long-term supports and services for older adults and younger people with disabilities and suggests few ways to improve such care. All of this is purely fear mongering, just like what the libtards accused us of doing when Obama was treading all over the Constitution. You can't take a letter to the editor or a commentary from a liberal and turn it into a factual news source. Next thing you all will be doing is pushing the Pravda as a valid source of information. |

Ryan says.....want to privatize it Trump appoints a man who want to privatize it. Sort of worthy of a conversation Oh...and were ALL of my FIVE lnks to letters to the editor ? Does Medicare need some revisions? Of course it does. As a group we are living much longer. Both Medicare and Social Security need slowly raise the age requirements. Social security did it a few years ago and there was no big outcry. Medicare has already been privatized to some extent. Medicare Advantage programs are the best example. A "hybrid" Social Security plan is not out of the question for some who want some choices for their retirement.
Both Social Security and Medicare have been great programs in the past but they both need updated and need to reflect current economic reality. We must find the political will to face reality. |

I have posted a lot on Trump...because A...I do not like lying and he lies. B...I certainly would prefer to discuss appointees or issues, but that does not seem to be a big item in here. C. I see no point in verbally abusing Clinton or Obama, and especially restricting my comments to that subject. Lots facing us, and that is what we should discuss. If either of them are "involved" in an issue, then let the chips fall where they may. D. I would prefer not..NOT to discuss Trump at this point, and certainly not in a negative manner, but he is turning on his supporters. Continues to lie and thus I say what I think. E. I still value conservative views, and once he takes office, I will talk loudly for that. I will not shut up and simply accept untruths and mis direction. |
Re; privatizing medicare
Quote:
It has also been suggested that we privatize social security. After all they tell us, just as they told us about real estate, that the stock market always goes up. I have added-EXCEPT WHEN IT DOES NOT. Were we allowed ot invest our social security funds in the stock market, first of all it would be impossible for us as the government has already spent the money you have put in BUYING VOTES from the people before us. If, we were 20 again, and invested WISELY, we would likely have more to draw upon from social security. What about those that did not invest wisely. Just as is happening now. Those that invested smart with a bit of luck thrown in would be expected to SUBSIDIZE those who did not do well. People would expect, people would demand a guaranteed return as our LIBERAL GOVERNMENT did with real estate SHORT-SALES. |

If all we do is bow to Trump, chastise Clinton and Obama then I am ok...I know that is a waste if time. So, my "superiority" complex as you see it comes from just simply wanting the wasted time on verbally abusing people who will not be involved in making decisions, and trying to make sense of why Trump continues to flat out lie in a daily basis. I assume he knows he won. Where I can really "eat crow" is on discussion of issues because in that venue I am here to learn. And, as a "compliment" I do understand your posts and your issue....spending beyond our means and for actuallly going at an issue I applaud you. I do not respond because until we really know where spending might go, it is tough. Word is Trump wants over a trillion in infrastructure, this morning Bib Woodward reported he had a conversation with Gen Flynn, we can anticipate more military spending, etc etc. With tax cuts, even in wealthy in the horizon...well, there is a reason why I have been pushing discussion and understanding of Medicaire, Medicaid and maybe Social Security...it may be the only way to go. So, I agree with Condi Rice, and if you or anyone wants me to "ear crow, talk issues and I will be asking questions. And I stand by my comments about the so called "conservatives" on this forum. The one way street if bashing irrelevant people and ignoring the verbal head fakes we will actually play into the left leaning posters. So long we heard on here from Conservatives to Liberals...how long will you be blaming Bush.....they are going to get the same chance as we ignore what is happening and play this name calling game. |

Show me where I said there were plans to privatize medicare or medicaid? We are al subjected to the koolaide but I have a habit of diluting mine to my taste. My confidence is not in Trump but in those Americans who are serious to ask why and keep politicians on their toes. I said any changes to such program evolve. Geeezzz Believe me when I say there is no question in my mind that the Democrats will do everything in their power to interfere with Trump's presidency..However there are 10 democrats vying for reelection in 2018 that may well work with Trump to secure their positions. Trump has extended an olive branch to many of his opponents and critics. If you were honest it isn't Trump continuing this divide its progressives who can't reconcile their loss like Maxina Watters nancy Pelosi, Barrack Obama, etc. Overall you have already graded Trump's performance and he hasn't even been sworn in yet. Well that's convenient. You might want to study up on the failings of confirmation bias thinking. You might want to alleviate the hate and anger behind your thinking as its unhealthy and unwise.
