Culver's is coming, and it's not to Trailwinds Village.

It will be at a building that housed a business called Glitz in the Southern Trace Plaza. Supposed to open early 2018 and will be golf cart accessible. :BigApplause: Per the Online news.

Oh JOY. She said selfishly. Nearer to our house. I can taste those butter burgers now and those milkshakes.

fred53 09-17-2017 08:08 PM

The burgers sound good, but my memories of custard are terrible...as it gets warm it leaves a greasy coating in your mouth.

circletrack 09-17-2017 08:18 PM

Having trouble finding the story.

John_W 09-17-2017 08:33 PM

I believe that's the old Dairy Queen location, hopefully they have better luck. That Glitz was nice, but very expensive, a regular Christmas store was all that was needed. If anyone needs anything special for Christmas, try Robert's Christmas Wonderland on Gulf to Bay Blvd in Clearwater.

Culvers -- best fast food burgers (in my opinion). Buffalo chicken tenders also very good. Also try their fish specials during Lent. Great custard. I think Culvers will be a hit in The Villages.

If you look on the home page of the online news site, look on the left under the business section for this article: Familiar face bringing Culver’s restaurant to golf-cart accessible location in The Villages. Address will be 3390 Wedgewood Lane.

Topspinmo 09-17-2017 09:14 PM

I go there for tenderloin sandwich.

Ooper 09-17-2017 09:31 PM

Never heard of them!

Culver's started in Wisconsin, and has spread to quite a few states. Currently Florida has 44 Culver's locations, mostly on the Gulf Coast and Orlando area, with a few on the Atlantic side and the Panhandle area.

I now have another reason to move to The Villages someday . . . LOL

kaydee 09-17-2017 10:34 PM

OMG... couldn't be happier with this news. Anxious for their arrival

rubicon 09-18-2017 03:55 AM

Discovered Culvers when we moved to Minneapolis area. Their butter burger and fries are really good. Also their fried chicken. Generous portions good pricing great service. Prefer a Culver's over a Red Robin.

As to location will it be where Crisper's once stood?

fw102807 09-18-2017 06:11 AM

I wish the DQ was still there.

pooh 09-18-2017 07:19 AM

Hooray! Only have been to Culver's once, but really, really enjoyed. Looking forward to having a location close by!

justjim 09-18-2017 08:18 AM

This will be a great addition to the "fast food" restaurant venue in The Villages. Custard is much better than ice cream IMHO. Culver's is going into the building that was a Dairy Queen when we first moved here. I never could figure why Dairy Queen couldn't make it here----management perhaps. Culver's Chili is very good----welcome to delicious!

Hooray, that's by me! Even better, they will be packed, steak and shake now has some competition! BK might as well fold now! :1rotfl:

In an effort to keep this thread focused on the new Culver's, all posts related to Yalaha Bakery have been moved to a new thread rather than deleting them as off topic.

Do they serve breakfast?

Kirsten Lee 09-18-2017 08:47 PM

No, they do not serve breakfast. Pulled pork sandwiches are great. So is the pot roast. Anyone can order a kids meal.

We went by today figuring out how to stake out a permanent parking space. Their fish sandwich is yummalicious.

I'll need to put Culver's on my bucket list.

I was so happy Culver's was not at the Villages - I am so addicted to their custard.
This is bad news for me. Have to wear blinders on when I see the sign or I'll be
at Culvers daily.

No breakfast, surprised me when they opened a New Culver's not far from our summer place in Illinois. McDonald's found breakfast to be very profitable. Who knows perhaps that's something that could be on their radar.

We enjoy McDonalds. I still think of it as a treat from early days in our marriage when Friday was a run to the grocery (one car) and then we'd take the kids to McDonalds. Not often anymore, but still satisfying. Both our girls worked at McDonalds in their teens and Helene for her whole life. They both attest to the cleanliness expected.

fishon 09-19-2017 09:53 AM

I've only been to Culver's once. That was enough.
Greasy burgers and Walleye.

MMMark 09-19-2017 11:22 AM

Culver's was founded about 10 miles from where we lived in WI for most of our adult lives...great establishment. It'll make a solid addition to TV. They aren't cheap, but they deliver good value. Can't wait to get my first turtle sundae with whipped cream & a cherry on top!

Kazmi 09-19-2017 08:06 PM

Butter burgers are a good fast food treat and this is good news for TV (me LOL). I did catch in the article that there's potential for another TV location. Yeah, make that on 44 please :icon_hungry::pray:

The oatmeal is scrumptious. Love all the fruit. I wouldn't call that dog food.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm assuming this lake fish is not a good specimen of fish, judging from a previous post.

In Minnesota walleye is like lobster to a New Englander.
