Tillerson, former head of the Boy Scouts of America, was incensed at how Trump politicized a speech he gave to the group. Trump ranted about fake news and his political opponents.

He could have chosen a different word:

addlepate, blockhead, boob, dimwit, dingbat, dolt, dope, dork, dumbbell, dummy, dunce, fool, halfwit, idiot, ignoramus, imbecile, lamebrain, loony, loser, mental defective, simpleton

What I do not and never will understand is, as we watch our country sink into a mud pit, and getting worse, how the support, even if low still exists.....how, on this forum, reasonably intelligent people will try to defend him.

Defend is a strong word, because nobody on here defends him.....they simply call others names. You cannot excuse in anyway what is being done to our country.

AS one recent example....is the inclusion of Chad on the banned countries from the US. Chad has for years been a partner and a good one in fighting terrorism world wide, especially in sharing information. No one knows why. We are used to in this country to having our foreign policy explained just a little bit.

Another post filled with hate and no substance....filled with NO information and simply attacks.

Your dealing with somebody who Trump has already talked about. This is one of those who would support him even if he shot somebody in Times Square. He also probably has a statue of Sean Hannity on his front lawn. Nobody complains about him because he never leaves the house.

And this is all true, why? Because somebody said so or wrote it? This is what I don't get - hanging on to every word of these reporters, and I mean that going both ways, liberal and/or conservative. Where is the proof of this? Statements in an article that contain words such as "reportedly" and "a US official" (no name, of course) doesn't hold water with me. If it's all true, I agree, it is concerning. But most of the "news" reporting today wouldn't pass muster in a HS journalism class.

To simply deny anything negative WITHOUT EVER SUPPLYING ANY VALIDATION, while the media is very clear , if not specific names, departments or area from where they get their news. They, by the way have been all over the airways substantiating their story.

We are so fortunate to have this free press right now. We know about all the private servers being used by the family in the White House...we know of the ethics are having such frustration with the President for on going violations, etc etc, and all we get is fake news, no responses to questions.

With just Trump and his zealots, we would be at the mercy of a chronic liar and cheat. He can't even get in the same page with his Secy if state or defense on foreign policy.

This makes no sense. The substance of this thread is the remarks made by Bob Corker and the differing public orations between POTUS and his Secy of state and Secy defense.

None of that is conjecture, but established facts.

He actually wants congress to investigate any negative stories about him.

He can make theses accusations on an international stage but never giving any credible evidence.

Just as I double-checked and tried to verify the stuff being said about our former President before drawing a conclusion, I will continue to do the same with this one. It's not about being duped by someone as you suggested, or wanting to push an agenda, it's about caring about the truth - as much as that is possible not being on the inside.

I believe that the President has never had much use for long speeches in his business world. I am just guessing but he seems to be more of an action guy than a speech type of guy. He would rather get things done and not waste time BSing when there is work to be done. He may not be much of a diplomat but I believe that is the main reason he was elected. Other than many just did not trust another Clinton in the White House.

You are so sensitive about everything it seems. I only mentioned the former President to make the point that it matters not to me what party, or whether I supported the elected President or not. My preference would be to discuss from a platform of truth. Whether it elevates my candidate or not, supports my viewpoint or not, is of little importance when dealing in truth. As much as I disliked Obama, I laid into plenty of people who I felt were spreading falsehoods about him when he was in office. Although I disagreed with much of what he did and have strong feelings about what he has done to our country by his actions, spreading unfounded rumors is not helpful in any discussion.

Your constant attacks about anything Trump, your unwavering support for the liberal media, and your sensitivity every time Obama or Clinton's names are mentioned make me wonder how much you really care about truth.
