TV Will Build for At Least 20-30 Years + 4th Town Square
3 Attachment(s)
This plan (VOSO exhibit A) for the construction of roads was approved by Sumter County. An agreement between The Villages and Sumter County was reviewed and approved at the SC Board of County Commissioners meeting.
The agreement specifies a town square will be located in Sumter County, but not the location. In addition to the massive size of the plans, I see these interesting items:

I'm sure Da Family has more mouths to feed...every year.
|
In 20-30 years most people currently on this forum won't be here to care about anything--not our concern what the developers do-unless Morse Blv'd & Buena Vista- start to look like the LIE
|
So these new drawings show growth plans for another 20+ square miles beyond what we knew about up until this morning. One could extrapolate this to be another 50,000 homes south of CR470, or tripling the current size of TV in the next 30+ years. Pretty amazing plans, it will be interesting to watch it happen.
Nice find Champion6! |
This is quite amazing. How many privately owned developers in this country do you feel have as much in the works as this family. To have this many square miles of land ready to go, a project to last decades, is quite remarkable.

Just in time for Millenials to retire here.

That's a lot of room for dog poop.

Living in the Marion County portion of TV, this news is almost like hearing about a development in another state. I cannot imagine ever visiting the new square after we take the curiosity windshield tour...if we are still kicking.

Harold is upstairs saying, "what the hell happened to my trailer park?"

On our first visit to TV, we had the pleasure of meeting Harold Schwartz. It was in the mid 90’s prior to our retirement. It was also prior to the building of the hospital. New houses were all “stick/block” built then. Mr. Schwartz was very personable as he greeted us in the sales office @ Spanish Springs. It was our pleasure to shake his hand and briefly speak to him.
We are sorry we never met Gary Morse. I’ve no idea how much future planning they might have done together, but the two seem to compliment one another. I would say both of them would be very proud of what is taking place these days in The Villages. |

Is that kinda like a 'Fast-Stationary' car? :1rotfl: |
Like the man once said, "build out is a myth".
Harold Schwartz and Al Tarrson started TV and Harold bought out Al and subsequently brought he son, Harold "Gary Morse", to help in the building of TV. Gary was the visionary and his family is continuing his legacy. I never thought TV would grow to be this big but what the heck do I know. As the population ages and more and more people are ready to retire, the Morse family is filling a great need. IMHO |

I heard from a very reliable source, that 'build-out' is definitely going to be August 14.......

Baby Boomers. 1946 - 1964
Generation X. 1965 - 1981 Millennials. 1982 - 2000 Looks like Gen X is next up for The Villages (after The Baby Boomer run). Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk |

I wish that somewhere along the way they would find a place for deeded luxury RV lots.

Keep it at around 100 luxurious spots, make it golf cart accessible, require a minimum motor-home/5th wheel size and age...then limit the stay to a couple of weeks or less. I would think that with those requirements (maybe even a few more?), it would attract exactly the kind of demographic...to which TV likes to market. It would make it easy for those RV'ers traveling around and who could afford to purchase here, to stop for a bit...and get an idea of what TV is all about. I don't know what the current cost of a 'Lifestyle Visit' is (to the visitor and/or TV), but I'm guessing that an RV park as described...would at least pay for itself. And of course, all rents would be refunded...with a purchase. :ho: 15 best Luxury RV Resorts |

I guess the main issue is that the generations are too long... I doubt someone born in 1982 vs 2000 is way different too... |
