NOT so friendly Villager
Well, maybe he wasn't a Villager but this is what happened yesterday. I was on line waiting to go into Colony Publix. When the doors opened, everyone sort of congregated together to get in but I stayed way back waiting for everyone to file in before me. I just feel it safer that way so not to be so close to people. As I was off to the side waiting for the line to disperse, some guy, wearing a mask walked right into the crowd of people, pushed someone aside and went right through the doors.
I stood there with my mouth open and could not believe what I had just seen. Other folks that he skipped ahead of were also standing there looking bewildered. Was he a Villager from Florida's Friendliest home town? I surely hope not. |
I just don’t understand some people. Sad to see how some folks can be so unhappy in their own lives. Glad I don’t have to go thru life like that little person.

I was at Winn Dixie this morning, everyone filed in single file, very pleasant experience, the only problem, they only got 27 packages of toilet paper, the manager was handing these out at the door on the way in.....no pushing or shoving that I saw.

My personal opinion is that the seniors-only hour doesn't work too well in a population of 120,000+ seniors. We have gone at later hours and also used home delivery of groceries. Currently have four rolls of paper towels and a pack of 12 tp to add to the 8 rolls we already had. I think (hope) we're set. We also have washable cloths for mopping up kitchen spills, etc. I am counting the sheets of tp though! |

Seen Pushy People before here !!!
I've seen pushy and rude people here. Doesn't surprise me this happened.... I just say to myself, "Welcome to the Villages." :duck:

Was it all women in line? I had a guy try that at Miller's Ale House back in January. There was line waiting to give their name to the hostess and this jerk walks up in front and said, "party of 2". I did my best "Dustin Hoffman" Hey, there's line here. He said, sorry and backed off.

Why should the minority (not race) get such validation as being representative of TV.

Did you see the email from FMK (Blue Fin and more) restaurant group? 1 free roll of TP with every delivery order. Now THAT was cleaver. |

Never must be other things to do in life besides waiting for a grocery store to open

Mom! Billy butted in line at the grocery store.

have you ever watched any of the news clips showing the doors opening on "Black Friday"....hordes of shoppers (mostly women) running and pushing each other to get a sale item that some little spoiled twerp said they wanted for Christmas
In one video the elderly man that had the unfortunate job of unlocking the door was pushed aside and fell over Ever watch the jockeying that goes on when people are all trying to get out the church parking lot? Ever watch the lane changers trying to get ahead of everyone else when a 4 lane turnpike toll booth is coming up and it's funneling down to two lanes? Was the guy a complete Bozo, yeah and an ignorant clod to go along with it To quote a very famous and influential person: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" |

If things get really out of hand, having police at the door may be an answer.

Maybe this man has a very sick wife at home and he was in a hurry to get his items and return home to her. We sometimes just don't know what other peoples lives are like at home or how someone is suffering.

There are a few rude and inconsiderate people here and elsewhere. It’s just a fact of life. Heck, I’ve seen people pushing others to get a better seat in church. My wife and I take turns shopping in order to help keep the crowds down in the supermarket. It’s a suggestion i saw and a very good one. I noticed some others sitting in their cars or golf carts waiting for their spouse/partner too. This too will pass in the weeks ahead.

Don’t know why we needed to know this. We’ve all been in situations where others were rude. Why carry it with you all day. Just move on forgive and forget. No need to spread the negativity on social media. I’m sure we all would appreciate others doing that for us when they consider us to be the rude one. And we all are at one time or another.

Way to go big John! Enjoyed playing golf with you, Jim and Lou. Al

A couple of weeks ago, we resorted to this: I made a list of what we needed and a copy for spouse. We each went to a different grocery store at the same time and would text each item we found so the other one could skip looking for it. Less duplicating and a chance that at least one of the stores might have what you're looking for. Stay safe y'all!

My sister works at Wal-Mart in Deltona and they have single file cones and a manager there to make sure people are coridal entering the store. Not like Christmas rush!!!
