Absolutely!!! Its seems to be one conspiracy after another. Take a break.

JimJohnson 04-10-2020 02:43 AM

I was stung by one in my left hand while picking up a stick of firewood in Georgia. It was between my hand and stick of wood so I crushed it enough that it died. I was able to to identify it as the giant Asian Hornet.

1. It was incredibly painful for 12 to 14 hours.
2. One sting Killer is False.

Two Bills 04-10-2020 03:45 AM

I heard they escaped from a CCP research unit in Wuhan, and first attacked in a local wet market!!:icon_wink:

rlcooper70 04-10-2020 06:04 AM

Is it healthy to imagine what "might" occur and what "might" be the next disaster? Does that facilitate positive hormones or does it add to the cortisol damaging the immune system that we already have? And it "might be" fake news. Why spread it. I'm going golfing.

Lyons and tigers and bears, oh my!

let's worry about what we can control and not get too crazy researching stuff online to worry about that we can't control now that we're all basically staying at home

dewilson58 04-10-2020 06:31 AM

Someone lost their sense of humor. Sorry, just couldn't resist the headline. For those saying this is fake news, or knocking The Sun, just google it

I think I catch your views Anothersteve, and that was my immediate response too. This poster finds stir the pot stuff to share with us it seems.

I need to read further and then read the article that has been linked by the OP. I haven't heard of that source before, but since I have not read the headlines on my computer from a list I keep in my head as credible (sans the frequent opinion pieces that are political) I am skeptical.

Wait, wait, deep breath..
Are you suggesting that something in the New York Times should be considered anything authoritative or even remotely reliable? Keep that up and you're going to lose your street cred.

Fred2016 04-10-2020 07:26 AM

LOL Just one of the first that popped up on google, there's lots more. Even the NYT would find it hard to politically spin a story about Asian hornets

I give you points for having a sense of humor!

I'm waiting for the "Meteor heading for earth. Worldwide destruction looms" headline. 2020: the year disaster descended.

I think the Chinese are still having trouble launching it.

The U.S. Sun also has a substantial focus on tabloid fodder out of the U.K.,

Stu from NYC 04-10-2020 08:49 AM

In that case will speed up production of my new super ray gun that is more or less guaranteed to kill these varmints.

If you google "giant Asian hornets invade USA" there are currently 3,980,000 results. They are not all from tabloids like The Sun. I saw this particular story and thought my god that's the most apochryphal headline I have ever seen. Villagers need not worry about getting stung by a giant hornet unless maybe their next door neighbor keeps honeybee hives in the back yard.

If you find this thread triggering there are many others here about updating your will, health directives, death rate on ventilators etc etc which will cheer you right up.

DeeCee Dubya 04-10-2020 08:53 AM

Are they ...?..

Are they Chinese ones?

And someone help me I’m going crazy sitting around posting. I’m wasting my life.

OrangeBlossomBaby 04-10-2020 08:56 AM

This is an attack on America! The Chinese is being directed by the Deep State and Soros to infiltrate our Great Nation by sending these weapons of mass Destruction our way!

Did you get the operative word.....Can kill with one sting to those who are "allergic":boxing2::boxing2::boxing2::boxing2:

Decadeofdave 04-10-2020 09:08 AM

Old news. I had these up north 5 years ago. Exterminator suited up and killed them. OTC wasp spray didn't phase them.

I find this thread triggering.

I wonder about a lot of things.

I am not going to get myself in trouble.

I am going to kick the dog.

We don't have a dog.

Can anyone do anything about relief from this relentless onslaught?

fdpaq0580 04-10-2020 09:40 AM

Just wondering, what ever happened to the horror stories of African killer bees coming up from South America?
( Sorry about stirring the pot. )

I am sincerely sorry if this thread scared you. I thought the headline was funny but not everyone has my sense of humor. Most of my threads are meant to help, be careful about sneeze clouds, here is a drug combo that some Doctors are using, why I quit playing golf etc.

If you really want relief ask hubby to smash your wifi router and cable box. Not a lot of good news out there right now. The other day I was having a panic attack so I drank a bottle of wine and watched an old movie. That did the trick.

100% Click Bait - you can find anything you don't want to hear. I'm so sick of those goofy ads appearing on every media.

Don Jr. was big game hunting in Asia. The hornets came to the US in his boxed up trophy skins.
