Martial Law

It’s time for the President to declare Martial Law in the Nation. These riots and the looting is now out of control. It will not end anytime soon without drastic action by the Federal Government. Hate to see this but I believe it’s reality!

Why should the entire nation be brought under martial law when the violations are to specific areas.....not affecting most of the country.

You have bought into what the media and special interest groups are selling!!

Mean what you say

My grandfather who passed away at the age of 102 had been a county sheriff in 1900 at the turn of the century. I was talking to him when he was 100 and asked him if he ever shot anyone? His answer was no as in those days when we said we would shoot you we darn well shot you and no one wanted to be shot. He did go into a large group of strikers to arrest one and he put 2 deputies on a cliff overlooking the strikers and said if anyone touched him the deputies were under orders to shoot that person. No striker touched him.
He was the kindness person I ever met and well respected as a Sheriff and lived by the rule of law!

Thanks... auto fill took over. I do like Matt Dillon though.

No I doubt that. Just my opinion. You don’t want people to have opinions that are not in line with yours! :boxing2:

And my father was a union organizer in the 1930’s all over country where sheriffs would beat , shoot and arrest working men for trying to make a better look fe for themselves, and my mom being sprayed with a firehouse and arrested in Alabama for marching peacefully for justice

A step in the right direction, no back backs during a curfew

I used to surf at San Onofre beach with James Arness, who played Matt Dillon. He was a big guy, 6' 7" and had a supertanker of a surfboard, 12 feet long. When he paddled for a wave he actually created a wake, us kiddies learned to stay out of his way.

You can still edit the title to correct the spelling. Click the EDIT button then click "GO ADVANCED" to edit the title.

Regarding Striking

If the striking is civil and not violent then it is lawful and to be commended for being peaceful. I did not want to get too far into it but the striker my grandfather was arresting was for murder during the riot. And I would defend my grandfather's right to protect
himself with "backup". One of the problems we are having with these rioters is their criminal acts of killing or harming peaceful people trying to defend their right to peace. :ohdear:

Bill32 06-01-2020 12:46 PM

Since there isn't any deterrent to rioting I guess we just wait for nothing left to burn down??? No more loot for the looters to steal? No more law abiding people to beat up?? I don't know if martial law can be enacted by specific location but I would be for that..

interesting story about James Arness, thanks for sharing. Glad to hear that he was that active in his private life

I had understood that all during the filming of Gunsmoke he was in much pain from an injury and that he couldn't stand or walk for any sustained length of time

That's why Matt was always seen in his office or leaning up against the bar in the saloon and Dennis Weaver had to come running with a limp yelling "Mr. Dillon, Mr. Dillon!"... then the cameras moved on to the next scene shot

The rioters know mayors & governors will be "restrained" which means Antifa presses ahead. It won't stop until the police shoot some number of the arsonists and felonious rioters.

That's a much better solution than martial law for the entire country.

I would strongly advise everyone, here in The Villages and surrounding areas, to be prepared.

The Villages is an armed camp ... not in the least worried about rioters showing up to torch the place. If they did, a whole lot of us old guys will show up with rifles and shotguns.

They were already oiled up because of the initial uncertainty with the virus

At some point somebody has to step up with the responsibility to bring the rioting to a stop.

Amazing how such a very small representation can be allowed/get away with open lawlessness, destruction and defiance.

And let's hope no one insults us by saying they are exercising their freedom of speech!

The President made a pretty damn good speech earlier.

The protests have morphed in to the 2020 version of Kristalnacht, this times Jews are not the victims, America & civilized society is being targeted--in 1938 the Brown shirts were supported by Hitler, now Antifa and other anarchists are being supported by liberal Democrat politicians--thank GOD we live in state where the second amendment is held as a constitutional right--this should become the start of a new "NEVER AGAIN"

No. That is not at all what he was saying. He was giving you another point of view, so maybe you would reconsider yours.

Otherwise, I’d have to consider your reply as indicating that you don’t want others to express their opinions that are not in line with yours,

This has been a long time coming. We are now a divided country. It's time we address the problems with race issues that have been promoted in the last 3 years

theruizs 06-02-2020 06:59 AM

Sad that so many think guns are always the best answer to a problem.

DanBrew 06-02-2020 07:01 AM

We don't need martial law, we simply need law. The last time I checked, it is unlawful to destroy property and steal. It is not unlawful, yet, to gather and protest. The problem with the current law is that it is not nearly swift enough.

Wait, so this race issue just popped up in the last 3 years? I was told that all white people are racist and that systemic oppression of minorities has been going on since the country was founded. Are you saying the "light bringer" obliterated all forms of racism and oppression during his 8 years in office? Then it just started again?

44Apple 06-02-2020 07:20 AM

When you have an obviously racist, possibly mentally defective, president who does as much as he can to divide Americans, to try to start a civil war, all the time filling the pockets of his family with more and more cash, this is what you get. A tiny segment of the population that tries to carry out his wishes, whether purposefully or not, and then a major reaction to it all. That's where we are.

Have you really considered what martial law means? It means that the military takes over the nation and suspends the laws. I think we are a LONG way from needing that.

I strongly advise anyone panicking over the arson, destruction, and looting in a few dozen neighborhoods in the country to just turn off their televisions. Network news makes money by keeping us watching, so they show us the worst of everything and try to make things look worse than they are. You will feel better soon. Really!

Or watch something else. Try watching the Netflix series “Occupied,” in which Russia occupies Norway and puts it under martial law.

Seriously, the only solution is guns? Take a look at how it played out in Kissimmee, no guns required. The problem with guns is that guns beget more guns.
