wow

Past practice shows that if you shoot the first few through the door, the rest disappear quickly!!!

a sheriff saying, "i highly recommending they blow you back out of the house......."

New Englander 06-02-2020 03:21 PM

I agree with the Sheriff.

eyc234 06-02-2020 03:42 PM

Agree 100%, if you come into my home uninvited you will not like the greeting you receive!! Not looking to hurt anyone but I refuse to allow someone else hurt my family or my property. All the "rights" that seem to be brandished about, the ability to protect oneself and family is a real right.

Maybe the more civil way would be to invite the intruder him/her in for apple pie....Common toughen up just a little bit...you seem very sheltered.

In my experience anyone who goes looking for trouble finds it, usually with a negative result.

I have 357 reasons why I am more than ready Sheriff !

Anyone who does a home invasion or damages someones property deserves to get what is coming to him/her

For backup I have 44 reasons why I agree with the Sheriff, I love apple pie, but right now I'm on a diet. So I don't have any apple pie.

Marvic 1 06-02-2020 06:23 PM

And they want to take our guns away....
- Maybe that Apple Pie might come in handy -

Some would not understand that this is one of the many facets of "prepping"

Seriously, all you people that think that Sheriff Judd was over the top with his statement, what are you going to do if someone (or several people) tries to break into your house and cause harm to you and your loved one(s)? Find some safe place to cower down and whimper?

Not at my house......

Looks like everyone has the same feelings to me. I understand what you are saying for sure.

It appears that you do not need to warn them. You can also shoot them if they are attempting to get into your vehicle while you are in it, perhaps to carjack it. Can I Shoot An Intruder In Florida

There is not one post saying or thinking the statement was over the top. Re-read the posts.

True. Just hope they don't turn quickly and you shoot them in the back.

Agree.

One would hope that the DA of his county feels the same way

Professor 06-03-2020 05:26 AM

I totally agree. None of us has to tolerate this poor and dangerous behavior.

oneclickplus 06-03-2020 05:33 AM

I agree with the Sheriff

I also think some more dead (shot) looters would turn things around quickly.

When you know you can get free stuff with no consequences does bring out the worst in people

Dr Winston O Boogie jr 06-03-2020 06:13 AM

Another amazingly misleading headline. Some of the fake news is blatant and some is subtle like this.

Listen to this sheriff. He says that if these so called protestors try to enter your house, you should shoot them as is legal under Florida law.

The headline implies that the sheriff is encouraging people to go out on the streets and mow these people down.

By making this statement what this sheriff has done is discourage protestors from trying to enter private residences.

Does anyone know if the castle doctrine applies to businesses as well?

Dr Winston O Boogie jr 06-03-2020 06:18 AM

There was a video posted somewhere of two shop owners (in New jersey I think) who met rioters that were about to enter their shop with a show of guns. On the video one of the rioters can be overheard saying, "They've got guns in there. That's crazy"

THAT'S CRAZY???? Defending your property against people who are rioting for the sake of rioting is crazy, but the rioters and looters are not crazy.

JimJohnson 06-03-2020 06:31 AM

I have no problem with killing someone to protect your property. I would like for the sheriff to show support for the non violent protesters, as they are the vast majority.

LOVE IT...I NEED THIS SIGN ON MY DOOR AS WELL. Cause I will protect my family and home and neighbors as well. I work hard for what I have. I follow the laws, pay my taxes, follow the rules. It isn’t hard being a honest good citizen. But some people don’t want to work at it....easier to steal

And headlines are the very reason people say and do stupid things. People do not read the article and jump to conclusions

The last I heard, non invasive vandalism is not a capital crime that would deserve the death penalty. If you replaced the “or” in your statement with an “and” then I would not have felt compelled to point this out.

So, tell me. Could you sleep easily at night knowing you killed someone? I sure couldn’t.
