Recommendations on where to purchase furniture

Moving in soon to our winter getaway. It is completely empty. Need some basic furniture (bedroom set, dining set, recliners) before being able to look for those gently used pieces. Need recommendations on where to shop. Thanks much

I purchased our indoor furniture at Babettes. They have a location in Brownwood and a larger store o 441. Lanai and birdcage furniture from Palm Casual.
I was very happy with selection and service at both stores.

Igolf 10-19-2020 06:36 AM

Thanks

Family Furniture in Leesburg has the best quality and price, We have tried them all in the past eight years.

Clydles1 10-19-2020 06:38 AM

I believe the original post was looking for some good quality furniture from a “second hand” store. I could be mistaken . Here’s one place I have found and it seems pretty popular. Bargains and Treasures. I’m not sure if It’s considered Wildwood but across from Walmart, google it.

Igolf 10-19-2020 06:43 AM

Thanks

Igolf 10-19-2020 06:44 AM

Looking forward to exploring there!!!!

Kent Furniture has Capri sofas made in Ocala at a reasonable price for the quality. Ask Chris or Stephanie for a 10% discount. We just bought our living room and dining sets from them. No delivery charge.

We bought a Capri outdoor set from Blockers in Ocala. Kent Furniture doesn’t have outdoor furniture on the showroom otherwise we would have stuck with Kent. They have an $80 delivery charge and high restocking fees if you change your mind.

Igolf 10-19-2020 07:00 AM

Thanks much

REDCART 10-19-2020 07:49 AM

If you don’t mind driving 25 miles to Ocala, Hudson Furniture also had a very nice selection. It’s right next to Home Depot on College Rd in Ocala.

tophcfa 10-19-2020 07:56 AM

Almost Perfect used furniture is hit or miss based on current inventory but has some great deals. Avoid $hitty Furniture at all costs, whoops I meant City Furniture.

njbchbum 10-19-2020 08:11 AM

You can't go wrong shopping and purchasing from Kent Furniture up in Belleview! Their selection is great as is the pricing and their delivery people! We furnished BR, K and LR with them - wudda done the guest room but we bought from overpriced Babette's before we learned about Kent!

raynan 10-19-2020 09:14 AM

Very happy with Babbette's in Leesburg. They have a much bigger selection than in Brownwood.

bowlingal 10-20-2020 05:11 AM

Don't forget Badcock Furniture in Wildwood or Fruitland Park.

Lgwilliams 10-20-2020 05:13 AM

Almost Perfect has new and used furniture. They carry some of the same brands as Babettes. The advantage is you can take right off the floor. No six to eight week wait for your furniture!

Northerner52 10-20-2020 05:15 AM

Very happy with Baddock in Leesburg and for previously owned. Furniture Barn in Fruitland Park and in Ocala, Carriage Trade

We just used city Furniture after everyone said not to..
My girlfriend just did so we went to look
Great prices nice selection
Not a problem

NYCAROL 10-20-2020 05:22 AM

Almost Perfect on 441 and Bargains and Treasures on 466 are the best for used furniture. Also there is another place called Nearly New. I bought from Babbetts. And was not happy with the quality of the material and I bought furniture protection and they didn't honor it.

Susan1234 10-20-2020 05:44 AM

The furniture barn just picked up a beautiful like new dining set from my sisters house yesterday....

This place is the best.

Also, they have two stores in Leesburg.......side by side.
Two different price-points.

I have found that Bargains and Treasures has way better prices than Almost Perfect. And, I thought that Nearly New went out of business more than a year ago.

Baptist thrift in Leesburg. Or for used go look here. Or next door.com

It's filled with people's old furniture. What do you expect?

cleosmum 10-20-2020 06:24 AM

Carriage Trade in Ocala has very nice, high quality gently used furniture. Have fun shopping!

KristineTVFL 10-20-2020 06:28 AM

Look at the classifieds here. Don’t recommend City Furniture.

Karenlebrun 10-20-2020 06:38 AM

Sleeper sofa

I have a new sleeper sofa for 300 or bo

CoachKandSportsguy 10-20-2020 06:46 AM

For our house, brand new, we used a combination of Babettes, City Furniture, Family furniture, Wayfair and Palm Casual. We were looking for very specific pieces, combination of transitional and modern / contemporary with the focus on the trade off between the long term usage life versus cost.

Bedroom higher priced, longer term useful life versus other rooms.

Good luck, its fun but frustrating with time limits and delivery issues, both UPS and otherwise

jocahollis 10-20-2020 07:01 AM

I ordered an entertainment center from Babettes the middle of August when I first arrived here with no furniture. I thought it would be so easy to buy new furniture. Well, the last I heard my furniture was on a containment ship in the middle of the ocean. So I went to City Furniture and purchased a reclining love seat...then bought la-Z-boy recliner, 2 end tables, and dining room set from Whites which was delivered the next week. Last week I went to Blockers and got 2 night stands and a very unique desk. It has taken me 2 months and over $10,000 to furnish my home. But you do have to shop around.

Ithreeputtoo 10-20-2020 07:03 AM

I have some Thomasville dining furniture, cocktail table, kitchen table with glass top and 4 chairs that is rattan and a large bedroom armoire. All is excellent condition. Also have some lanai furniture. I will be taking photo's of all this today.

Had a new neighbor move in recently, order a lot of stuff from Wayfair, free delivery. one way to get the many things you might need.:ho:

virtualcynthia 10-20-2020 07:04 AM

Nextdoor, the neighborhood conversation thread. I saw two nice dining room sets “free”. Many low cost items.

Cruisy 10-20-2020 07:05 AM

We furnished from several sources...Babette's is wonderful for new. Carriage Trade (high quality Consignment)in Ocala was great for desk and extra dressers...And Costco recliner set terrific.

Grill Meister 10-20-2020 07:07 AM

Bargains and Blessing, Wildwood. Sponsored by New Covenant United Methodist and all profits go to various ministries within our area.

WelchNH 10-20-2020 07:10 AM

I've lived in TV for 3 years: had good luck with Furniture Barn Consignment in Fruitland Park. Good quality furniture and they will deliver for a small charge.

We were in the same position as you are last year at this time. We wandered into Kane's furniture in Ocala just to look around and 4 hours later had our house completely furnished. Lol At the time they were offering a credit card with free interest for a year which was a very nice option and our sales person was excellent.

Their delivery service people work directly for Kanes... no outsourcing. They are very very careful bringing furniture into your home because from what I understand if they break it they have to pay for it personally. We are very happy with their products and their customer service.

Good luck!

Rsenholzi 10-20-2020 07:12 AM

If you want new go down to Altamonte Spring ( about an hour away ) they have every furniture store to could want on one strip. Rte 200 in Ocala is a good place to go also but not as many . If you don’t mind used, Bargains and Treasures and Furniture Barn ( in Leesburg ) are good places to go. They usually get people’s furniture who rented and now moved down permanently and want new for themselves. Furniture Barn usually only carries high end like Ethan Allen And Thomasville. Good luck!

Ipecoraro 10-20-2020 07:18 AM

Almost Perfect is the place to go on 441N. Quite a variety to choose from.
